Takes a lot of guts to denounce a murder, huh?
You win the award for the scariest looking blog I've visited today ; )
My name is Paul Zannucci, and I
’m putting together a blogroll of sites, both Texas and national blogs, that will support Michael Williams in the Senate election to replace Kay Bailey Hutchison.
I realize it is a bit early in the process, but we are trying to get ahead of the game. As you are no doubt aware, Democrats have a significantly easier time getting both press and money.
If you would like to join this blogroll, please email me at pzannucci (at) gmail.com. All you
’ll have to do is fill out a brief form and place the unobtrusive blogroll into your sidebar. This is not being hosted by blogrolling.com, so there should be not problems with hackers and speed.
The advantage, though perhaps small, to you and your site would be the link exchanges. We are only going after established, active, and relevant blogs.
Thanks for your consideration.

I've written once before but never came back because I feel what I say falls upon deaf ears. Nonetheless, I'm writing again. The right-wing media refuses to hear what has been said. Want an apology? Go to CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations), the ADC (Arab-American Defamation Committee) or any other organization that has condemned all violence and heinous acts committed by Muslims and/or Arabs. They have issued countless statements and press releases that only some media outlest are willing to print. In addition, just because some lunatic who happens to be Muslim commits a crime doesn't mean it's our (meaning Muslims) responsibility to apologize for him/her. I am an American first, a Muslim second. I do not align myself with those people nor does anyone I know. So just as I wouldn't apologize for Timothy McVeigh, I'm not apologizing for any other murderer.

Roxanne,
Your comments here are appreciated, and I take you at your word. I cannot, however, take CAIR or the ADC seriously because their actions – funding and supporting terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas – contradict their public statements. From the evidence I have seen, they are indulging in Taqiyya and Kitman (lying to "infidels," telling them what they want to hear, as prescribed in the Qur'an and Hadith).

I love how you quote scripture of a book you have probably never even read. If you did read the Koran you would know that Christians and Jews are, in reality, considered brothers and sisters in Islam and also called "People of the Book." Muslims are allowed to marry both Christians and Jews, in fact. The "infidels," to which you refer, are pagans who worship idols. Osama and his gang of idiots like to make up what is in the Koran (seriously - half of what they preach is not in the Koran) and other idiots believe it.
Just so you know, I am a secular Muslim. Yes, we exist and are many. I have read - many times - the Koran, and have also read parts of the Bible and the Old Testament. Each "book of God" preaches hate, intolerance and violence (along with peace, love and understanding. I dare you to prove me otherwise (it cannot be done).
It's easy to hate Muslims, even though we have been in the United States for more than a century and you can even trace Muslims back to World War I (yes, we fought in the military as US citizens - imagine that!)
I think ignorance is comfortable for people who choose to hate. Makes you feel better about yourselves, don't you think?

Ignorance? Sounds like you're speaking from experience. Especially since you're claiming Islam considers Jews & Christians to be their brothers & sisters when reality shows that not to be the case. And the Qur'an is routinely used to justify the commonly-taught belief that Jews & Christians are "descendants of apes and pigs"

I don't hate Muslims. I just want radical Muslims to leave me and my country alone (and that goes for ANY religion that uses violence as their evangelism). I don't want ANY theocracy here. Especially the violence and misogyny that is codified in Islam's Shari'a.
Live and let live isn't ignorance. I'm sorry if you can't agree with me on that.

I laughed out loud when I went to that Web site. Seriously? You believe that bullshit? Again, go to the source. There is NOTHING in the Koran that says Jews and Christians are descendants of pigs. And here's what an ignorant person would not understand: when those sheikhs talk about Jews, what they mean are Israelis. You wouldn't understand that because you have never lived in the Middle East (nor visited, I'm sure). I not only lived there for six years and traveled the region (including Israel, twice), but I worked as a journalist there. I saw it all and heard it all.
I'm not defending his statement - he's clearly and idiot, too. But you have to understand the history there (which you don't) to know why people say the things they do. If you do your research (and you can even just go to the Israeli paper Ha'aretz if you think any other media outlet is skewed), you will see that horrible things have been said by EVERYONE. But yet, you are happy to condemn the Muslims and not the Christians or Jews. Right. Because only Muslims can be wrong, right?
Seriously, dude, you are so one-sided in your views it scares me. It's not "your" country - it's OUR country (I'm American too, second generation). We all hate when people attack us. But OUR OWN PEOPLE have attacked us right here on our soil (Timothy McVeigh) and I don't see you writing about how you hate all Christians and those types of people who want to hurt us. What, you think they don't still exist? Of course they do!
The Japanese attacked us in 1941. Should we still hate them, too? Come on.
I'd love to know how I'm ignorant, by the way. I read, I do my homework/research and I know a fast-talking xenophobe from the majority of people. You keep quoting all these so-called sources yet not once have you picked up the controversial literature to which you refer.
By the way, CAIR is a civil rights organization, as is the ADC. Again, you are ignorant to assume they contribute to Hamas and other terrorist organizations - those are claims from right-wing groups that are completely unfounded (prove me wrong - I dare you. Give me REAL proof they contribute to terrorist organizations.)

You can believe that site or not. I'm not the cleric teaching that Jews and Christians are descendants of pigs. It's a fact that many extremist imams do so. And it's also a fact that I HAVE read large portions of the Qur'an. Probably just as much as you've read the Bible. But seeing as neither one of us is a theologian, how about we leave that one there, eh?
When you speak of "what an ignorant person would not understand," you would do better to direct your ire to the 91 million radical Islamists around the world who DO believe that interpretation of the Qur'an. I didn't make up those quotes, nor did that site (the author's statements are quite well-documented). But you're free to have your own opinion regardless. It's not my book nor my belief. If those beliefs (re: pigs & dogs) are not yours either, then why get so bent out of shape about it?
As to America being "my" country: it IS. It is my country. Not mine alone, of course; that's not at all what I was saying — and you know it. If you're an American citizen, it's your country, too. Parsing my statement is unnecessarily contentious and totally uncalled for.
As to "proving" you wrong, I have no time nor interest in fisking your ridiculous challenges. The facts are there if you care to look. But you're free to believe what you want. If you love CAIR and the ADC and believe they're angels, go right ahead.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again since you're so obviously muddled that you can't think straight: I don't hate Muslims. My next door neighbors are Muslims, for crying out loud! I've NEVER said I hate Muslims. I do, however, hate Islamists (those who believe in violent jihad to spread their faith and use the Qur'an and Hadith to justify murder on behalf of Allah). Just like I hate ANYone who uses religion to justify violence and murder.
The origin of this thread was about elements of the Muslim community's silent acquiescence to murder. Yes, many Muslims DO denounce jihadists. But there seem to be plenty who silently agree, as evidenced by the disappearance of "honor killing" scumbags like Yaser Abdel Said. (Note: this is not unlike the fact that 1/3 of British Muslim students believe killing in the name of Islam can be justified). Someone, somewhere, knows Said. Yet he's being hidden. If you're not doing it, then my anger isn't directed at you, is it?
I started my initial response to you by stating that I take you at your word. Yet you decided you wanted to start a fight instead. So take it elsewhere. I'm through wasting time on you.

And clearly you're through wanting to know the truth as well. 91 million imams? I love how you just pull those "facts" out of thin air. Really? 91 million? I don't even think there ARE that many imams in the world!
Let me ask you something - what would be good enough for you? The crimes are denounced, there are organizations that speak up and yet still you say no one is saying enough. Your standards and expectations are way too lofty for anyone to meet.
And why didn't you speak up when Timothy McVeigh killed all those people? Why aren't you denouncing Irish Catholics for killing all those Brits? Why aren't you pissed off at ETA for killing all those Spainards? Why aren't you just furious at the world?
I ask because no one is innocent. It's awful to admit, but it's true. I still think you're ignorant because ignorant people refuse to learn the truth and you get your information from bullshit Web sites rather than true facts. So naturally I'm a little angry, too.
Your poor neighbors. How will they ever live up to what you expect of them?

Yeah, what ridiculous standards I have. How could I possibly expect someone to turn in a murderer rather than shelter them from the law? I'm so ignorant and xenophobic for expecting people to oppose murderers.
And you're asking me about 91 million IMAMS? Seriously? That's what you read in my comment? Reading comprehension isn't your bag, is it?
Ok, let me spell it out for you.
7% of the world's Muslim population are radical. 7% of 1.3 billion = 91 million radical Islamists.
Did I pull that fact out of thin air? You wish.

Timothy McVeigh? Seriously? That terrorist scumbag blew up the Murrah Building back in 1995. I wasn't blogging at the time. Nice try to change the subject yet again. Take your straw men, and your total lack of reason, and go somewhere else. If you are unable, or unwilling, to find common ground against violent jihadists, then I have no interest in talking with you.
