I’m not really offended by the ad, but I can see the bad taste it would leave in some folks mouths…just like their vodka.
Stoli can run an add annexing Alaska, since there are some Russians (mainly working class) who purport that Alaska was only leased anyway.. Finlandia can run an ad showing new Viking raids on the Northeast..
The ad takes on a different context from just poor taste if we consider that we are not bereft of radicals who really believe that this is as it should be, that at the very least some states (really, the nation) should have Spanish as a legally recognized state language, who are ABSOLUTly (okay, BAD play there) racist against caucasian Americans... this is one of those ads that if we ran one with Texas growing into Mexico we'd have a riotous response. Personally, if you can;t run it both ways - don't run with it at all.

Thanks for the links. Some of these supremacist groups like La Raza are just as disturbing as the KKK, perhaps even more so because American society at large seems to turn a blind eye to their words and deeds for fear of being labeled racists themselves.
Sad state of affairs that a people once known for being courageous increasingly abide in their homeland without a spine...
But then, we now teach that a spine is an agressive thing, lacking in empathy... if we stand up against La Raza and people taking a similar stance (take down a foreign flag and tear it up?) we risk being likened to the KKK and dragged through the courts...
RANT: When I was young I used to wonder at the attention given to the care of the flag... now, these years later, I marvel instead when I see the local post office dragging it inside draping it along the ground and crumpling it up as they toss it on a shelf... yes, just a piece of cloth... but when we let go of little respects granted the idealism, we seem to let go of the idealism itself... something I couldn't understand as a kid because I believed adults maintained the same enthusiasm of youth.
Where there is no vision, the people perish.
