Good Word. Thankyou, for there truly is no better way than God's Way and there truly is no worse way than our own.
Blessings in Christ Jesus!

I've read Ruth a few times was involved in a study of Ruth once. I didn't quite get the warning against sin message from it. Ruth and Naomi were in hardship but I didn't study further (in other books?) or speculate why. I read it again in light of what you are saying. Thanks.
But, indeed, Boaz is a picture of Christ, and Ruth and Naomi a picture of His Bride.

Gary, some commentators say that it is to read too much into the situation to see their journey to Moab as disobedience. But when you look at the purpose of the book, and the implications of what they did, and the bigger biblical picture, I find it hard not to see it as sinful. Especially when you add to it Naomi's own self condemnatory words in v 21. "The Lord has testified against me."

Mark...my name is Susan and I live in southern California. I stumbled across you website from a link at David Fisher's blog.
I feel as though I stumbled upon a treasure. I will be exploring and using your website as a great resource.
At Kindred Community Church we have started studying the book of Ruth on Wednesday nights. Your postings are a perfect timing.
Thank you for your faithfulness in teaching and sharing the Word of God.
