Gravatar I've enjoyed reading your posts on Ruth. Your comments regarding the way God works through the seemingly "insignificant" day-to-day circumstances of life...His Providence...if you will...are an oft times overlooked aspect of His matchless mercy and grace... We do tend to look to the "big" things...the prophets, the kings, etc.

We've recently sat with several couples and individuals seeking to join the church...as they shared their testimonies... It's always interesting to hear or where they've come from...how they can now look back and see the Hand of the Lord, active and working, long before they themselves ever remember even hearing the gospel message, let alone responding...

One thing I find disappointing, however, is the number of "testimonies" which focus on "me" and what God has done for "me." How "accepting Jesus" has brought resolution to my "problems." As opposed to the simple reality of the gospel message...I was a sinner, an enemy of God, deserving only His judgement...under condemnation...and He stepped in and rescued me...in His matchless mercy and grace...

Once again, too long...my apologies...
