I recently started using Avro. With a basic understanding of Bangla script, I was quickly able to use the phonetic method to quickly type in Bangla documents. It really is a magical piece of software.

মেহদীর নিজেরও মনে হয় ধারণা নেই ও কতবড় একটা কাজ করেছে। অন্য ভাষায়ও ফোনেটিক কী-বোর্ড আছে কিন্তু অভ্র সেগুলোর চেয়ে অনেক ক্ষেত্রেই আলাদা-উন্নত। বাংলার মত এতগুলো বর্ণ সম্বলিত ভাষাকে ফোনেটিকে বাগ মানানো এক কথায় অসম্ভব একটা কাজ। অভ্র ফোনেটিক না থাকলে মনে হয় এই জীবনে বাংলা টাইপ করা শেখা হত না। আর তারপর মেহদী তার এই আবিষ্কারকে ওপেনসোর্সে ছেড়ে দিয়েছে!!! বাংলা ভাষার উন্নয়নে অবদানের জন্য আমরা কি মেহদীর জন্য একুশে পদক দাবী করতে পারি না?
