Whats your view on this?

Well that last bit about the TV channels is absurd in the extreme. Actually we were all very impressed by the professionalism of the new CSB news channel.

We are on Satmosjid Road on Dhanmondi and were shocked at the amount of simple hooliganism that made up the "protests". These "students" didn't seem to have any grudge but were rather joined by a lot of rabble rousers whose point seemed only to destroy property. In particular Northern University students were seen attacking the campuses of other private universities on the road like UIU, ULAB and Victoria U. For no reason, just to destroy property. From our roof we could see a kebab shop on fire near BDR. Why?

Actually that is what is making this protests so hard to get behind. They do not seem organized at all! Certainly during the hartals we have seen the organizing hand of the parties, but here it just seems like any random guy with excess time on his hands is joining in for the fun of destruction.

Now the mobiles are off and curfew is in place (It's 9:30 pm). There has been no announcement from the powers that be. How can this be? SOMEONE must come forward and face the nation!

Gravatar Last night I got a call from a friend saying that the protesters were mostly non students who took part in the riot that night. The next day in the morning I saw with my own eyes that most of them were not students (I even saw 13-14 year old kids). So, you can guess what’s going on. It’s a political issue now. But the army and police seem to be angry on us. When I was walking back to a safe place at the time we were asked to vacant our halls I saw police behaving very badly with students. Well, they say we are the best –seems like it was better to go to army now, I mean with the current situation I could do whatever I wanted to do
