"So Mahfuz Anam disowned him." ..... hehehehe
Your favorite editor "disowned" his own colleague. One day your "Vab-Guru" will "disowned" you as well.

Ah..this goes to prove that international shadow negotiation does work Had Tasneem bhai not been a representative of Cable News Network (also known in popular myths as CNN) and had they not pulled the right strings..his containment and interrogation wouldn't have been so short lived.
My tips to Bangladeshi bloggers currently living in BD (that doesn't count you Rezwan bhai..hee hee..you're the lucky one) and blogging about political megalomania, play it safe. The best way to blog-about/criticize an event/entity is to employ the "Rabindranath Tagore" strategy. His literature were so cryptic and so metaphorically ingenious that the British never figured out if they were being criticized or patronized On the opposite, Najrul acted like an instant fool and suffered nervous epidermal damage from torture-cells which later rendered him paralysed.
Finally, it is indeed a relief to see a fellow blogger getting freed. But on the other hand, I'm feeling kinda uneasy to think that our slothy, outdated govt has started monitoring the huge anneals of the web :| So, are the days of internet ambiguity and freedom finally coming to a closure...
Heck no! I know dirty tricks of the trade, lets see them try to decrypt my works and trace me back to my M.A.C address .

Himal Magazine has just been censored in Bangladesh. They were forced to pull two articles about Bangladesh from their May print issue before the issue could be distributed in Bangladesh.
Their press not about this on the front page of their web site:
http://himalmag.com/
I've read the two articles in question on the Himal website. The articles, actaully commentaries, refer to the regime in Bangladesh as a military regime and is critical of the regime. That probably explains the censorship.
This is an ominous sign.
