I just read her actual resignation speech in its entirety. I like her basketball metaphor: passing the ball so that the Team can win. Can you imagine a Democrat thinking in such terms?

Reading her speech, I see exactly the opposite of "quitter." I see someone with a sense of strategy, a woman who puts principal ahead of personal gain. Moreover, I see someone who really believes what the Bible says: that God lifts up the humble.

I don't know what she's got in mind, but I say God bless her. She's a fine, good, normal (as Steyn notes) person.

Go, Sarah. And God speed.

She could do what Reagan did: give speeches around the country, make friends, learn what she needs, develop her philosophy, and see where she stands in a few years. I expect it would be a lot higher in esteem among Repubs, and still be gnawing away at Dems' confidence.

What makes you think that 0bama will be in office in four years? I certainly don't.

Maybe 2026, when trig turns 18.

Gov. Palin's entire career has been poo-poo'ed by her adversaries, from which she has out manuvered all of her so called 'more experienced' rivals.

This resignation will be no different.

Who among you can say you would not prefer Gov. Palin to BHO, or California's Govenator? Biden? Edwards? Gore? or any Kennedy?

Gov. Palin may look wounded, but I sense she's playing possum!!

You are "a coward and a bully," LewArcher.

You like to quote things. See if you can find some quotes back from an era when Democrats liked seeing themselves as champions for the handicapped. How things have changed. Now Democrats make fun of an innocent child because he has Downs and think it's progress.

George W. Bush described his beliefs as a compassionate conservatism. Now I see why the left rejected him. It was the compassion that they're against.
