re Andrea Yates, no attempt on my part will be made RWS. I agree completely. Bottom line: she did it.

I'm also stunned by the logic of those who will argue that people like her are completely incapacitated by their insanity--insomuch that they know not that their children inhale water--but not insane enough to recieve a lethal injection without sustaining sufficient cogniscent trauma.
Yep. They suddenly perk up at an aquittal.
Or an execution. . .

Interesting the criticism from Kennedy et al on Armstrong's contract. One of Kerry's major criticisms of Bush during the campaign was not funding NCLBA; now the administration tries to promote it to the very community that would presumably benefit most, and the NCLBA authors scream bloody murder. Hypocritical demagoguery. I'm guessing it would have been OK to hire a LIBERAL African-American commentator to promote it. Turf war, you know. Who owns the black vote, after all? On second thought, it wouldn't have been OK. Nothing this administration does is OK. Ever.
Hiring Armstrong was a bad idea, but it's not nearly as bad as the state of public education. NCLBA increases federal control of local schools, which is a recipe for further decline. National curriculums and teaching to national standardized tests will follow on this path.

Can't blame Armstrong for doing it. Dogs can't help being dogs, the upstanding people in the media can't help being what they are, either.
It's not RIGHT, but it's not surprising, either.

I don't have as much of a problem with money paid to promote the No Child Left Behind Act, as I do there not being full disclosure.

That's what I like about this country - paranoia. I'm being serious. Paranoia about under-the-table relationships encourages full disclosure and transparency. Paranoia about political power encourages democratic involvement. Paranoia about your neighbor encourages gun ownership.
I LOVE this country!

"The white house had no knowledge of it."
Congrats sparkle on the funniest line I've read on a blog all week. You crack me up.

douglas, I guess you have some proof that they knew?
You know, the President is kinda busy, war on terror and all. I doubt every PR campaign crosses his desk.
The white house says they didn't know. I would think it would be pretty easy to find out if they did.

Doug doesn't need proof, it's self-evident! Guilty until proven innocent, that's how justice works in the political arena.

Coming from the "South Park" (whatever, blah) side of the very conservative side of the GOP, I just want to say THANKS for keeping it REAL on the Kid Rock (non-)issue.
We may not share the same church-attendance record or even the same "language" (pretty vs. potty), but we're on the same side of the issues, and that's what's important. This isn't.

I'll admit to liking a couple of Kid Rock tunes. Not much, but enough that I don't immediately switch the station when one of them comes on.
But there are hundreds of groups I like better.

Now here I go sounding like an ignoramus, but I wouldn't recognize a Kid Rock tune if it came up and bit me on the ass.

Well I didn't know many of his tunes till this came out and some have posted his lyric and yeah, they are awful, I mean sick awful. So what are you gonna do? He surely won't play his bad stuff at the white house. I understand why are some are upset though. But we have bigger fish to fry than this. I say forget it.

I'll take your word regarding his lyrics Sparkles as I have no intention of attempting to find out myself.
Frankly I could care less who performs at the inauguation concert. Well...then again, if it was Barbara Streisand I'd be extremely upset....
