Al, it's not a house makeover show. It's a bricklayer to metrosexual makeover show:
A bearded man from the bazaar is whisked into a barber shop, where he's given a shave and a slick haircut. After a facial, he visits fashion boutiques.
In a few tightly edited minutes of television, the humble bricklayer is transformed into an Afghan metrosexual, complete with jeans, sweater, suede jacket, and sunglasses.
One can only hope that the cultural damage isn't permanent.

††††BEIJING, June 6 -- Afghan defense ministry spokesman has said that forces have arrested a senior Taliban commander accused of leading attacks against Afghan and U.S.-led troops based in the west of the country.
††††Spokesman Zahir Azimy said that Haji Sultan, a division commander for the Taliban, was arrested with Mullah Mohammad Rahim, another senior Taliban official, in the western province of Farah on Saturday. Haji Sultan was on the U.S. military black list.
††††U.S. and Afghan forces as well as authorities in neighboring Pakistan have arrested hundreds of suspected Taliban and their al Qaeda allies since the Taliban were ousted from power in late 2001 by U.S.-led forces. Bin Laden, like Omar, remains at large.
