Wow. I've heard rumors of treason charges against them - which I fully support.

Incredible.
I hope you're right Patriot. We all want free speech and freedom to assemble, but this type of activity has to recognized more often as treason.

They're looking into law surrounding Treason today - the benefit of which is that while everyone thinks the UK does not use the death penalty - they do for Treason.
But the law was only ever used when there was a direct threat again the monarchy - it will be interesting if they decide to change the law, my guess is they will change it to cover these types of acts.
The only other reason outside of Military law for which the death penalty exists is an odd one and that is 'Spying on HM Dockyards Portmouth'

Isn't the death penalty kind of useless in this case? The enemy isn't afraid of dying. It embraces it.

No I think the death penalty is valuable here. What they want is martyrdom. It's hard for me to see how being fried as a criminal would make you a martyr. The way that they die is more important to them than that they die.

Well it would be most fun if it were done in public, However I think sticking them on some foresaken island somewhere would be better similar to St Helena where they would have to fend for themselves with no chance of ever getting off.
I think there's realty tv rights in that idea lol.
If the Island got over populated we could set up a 'ferrel Al Qeada season' annualy.
But the best by far would be the chinese bambo punishment - albeit a little gruesome

The death penalty here is a win-win situation!
They want to die.
We want them to die.
We might as well help them out...

"Could this be any creepier?"
Oh, heck yeah. Just put 'em all in gimp masks and lather 'em up in vasoline. That'll turn the creepy level up another couple of notches, easy.

Did Wonderduck see the Abu Ghrad pictures despite the Govt.'s refusal to turn them over?

gimp masks... yep, that'd be creepier.
jandrew, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Some of us remember 3000 innocents being murdered.
And I'm not EVEN gonna trouble you with the "Iraq-Hussein-Terrorism" argument. I'm sure you will stipulate that many or most of the Abu Grab prisoners at least SYMPATHIZE with the Al-Q murderers, and were fighting us for like reasons.
So, with that on the table, here's the secret. If some Abu G prisoner scumbags got slapped around or embarrassed or humiliated or roughed up or got their twinners zapped...
we don't care.
we really don't.

Actually, Jandrew, I didn't. In the real world, as opposed to the one you live in, some people can make comments without trying to score political points.
To whit: Sparkly asked if this scene could be any creepier. I suggested gimp masks and vasoline. No political background, no nothing, just an excessive creepy factor.
Leave it to you to fly the Abu Ghraib flag at any opportunity.
