God go with you. Genuinely GOOD and DECENT people are what make us RIGHT WINGERS destined to always be the SILENT MAJORITY. I can accept that. It is who my Hunky Hub goes into battle for everyday in the dirt of a barren land. For GOOD people like you who will raise their flag everyday and realize that "IT" ISN'T ABOUT THEMSELVES, but about supporting the values that make this country the last great hope.

I enjoyed your blog and you will be missed. What you accomplished here is important. There seems to be an increased polarization between the left and right. You created an environment where the left and right could, at least attempt a dialogue. If the dialogue at times got closer to Jerry Springer than Socrates, that is the fault of all of us, not the forum that you provided.
Take care.

Go with God.
We've all been there, more times than you know.
Sometimes blogging can be all consuming. Though everyone's eyes and ears are on you, the things you care most about have a way of getting lost in the shuffle while you're up there dancing about, trying to keep everyone amused. And that is not right.
You have to strike the right balance in your own life, and you are the only person who can find that for yourself.
I wish peace and happiness for you. You deserve it, lady.

You're leaving us? But I've only just found you, and you've all ready become a favorite blogger of mine. With the one acception of Mr. McCain, I feel that you speak for me - only much more eloquently than I ever could.
Well ... one more thing we'll have to disagree on - I don't agree that Rightwingsparkle was ever about 'you.' This blog, as well as the HC blog and video blogging is about issues and topics conservatives care about. You have a gift that you've shared with your readers, and I thank you for it.
If I may ... because you mentioned your work with counseling pregnant teens -There's one thing that I think is being missed by pro-life activists. Many young women who seek abortions are not educated about what they are aborting. They are thinking 'fertilized egg,' not baby. Out of sight, out of mind - until sometime later - after the fact - they see photos of actual fetal development, and can count toes and fingers in the first trimester.
We've all seen the horrible, bloody photos on the signs of anti-abortion protestors. These photos make heads turn away. In utero photos instead of bloody aborted fetuses might garner more attention that both educates and makes people think, instead of turning them away in anger. Outrage rarely changes hearts. Knowledge does. If more young women saw in utero photos before aborting, rather than after, I think there would be fewer abortions.
And if Planned Parenthood et al objects to education that provides all the facts, then they're not really about 'choice' at all - they're pro-abortion. Keeping information away from young women that they feel might make them change their mind about aborting, means they've all ready made up their minds for them.
Thanks for blessing us with 'rightwingsparkle.' You will be greatly missed. Good luck to you always.

RWS, you 've made a point I missed before I posted earlier when you mentioned When I served meals on wheels I found that most of the elderly poor’s problem was not being poor, but in having children who didn’t care enough for their parents to fix lunches and fill their refrigerators with food for the week. It was simply easier to let someone else do it.
I never gave a second thought about it until I took a second look at what you've said...Saturday, I was over zealous while preparing dinner had plenty left over so took some to a 72 year old man down the street...the old codger was happy he didn't have to cook for himself, tonight I dropped off another "care package" still hot from the oven...the sad part is is son drives by every day morning and evening to & from work, can't even make a daily phone call to check to see if his dad is okay. I'm with you! What ever the future brings, don't hesitate to ask if I can help lend some assistance.

Thanks for sharing on this blog, Sparkle. All the best in whatever you do.
The word "vocation" comes from the Latin "vocare," meaning "to call," and carries with it the necessary implication that the Caller is God. The concept captures the Christian doctrine that every person on this planet is called by God to fulfill some greater purpose that accomplishes His will. Luther used to talk about this as the "priesthood of all believers." He was anxious that all Christians should know that they, and not just the clergy, were "called."
So, God bless you as you seek your vocation.
(I always said you were a Lutheran at heart. )

One of the things I am determined to do is finish a book (a fictional novel) I've been writing for a while now. I may post some chapters here when I am ready.
I think everyone here and everyone who participates in the political blogosphere does so because he or she wants this world to be a better place. We just all have different ideas on how to get there.

Ok, you made me cry. Maybe it's because I'm hormonal being pregnant with baby number six (counting my angel baby).
Maybe it's because I feel like a selfish jerk. I donated blankets to our local Catholic women's help center yesterday and I'm supposed to volunteer there and I've just found too many excuses not to do it.
Ugh, I don't want to load my kids up and spend a bunch of hours there.
Oh, we're homeschooling and my oldest will be too distracted to get his work done.
Well, I suck and you made me realize it. I will call and begin my volunteer service. I understand the heart ache when someone has an abortion. It rips me apart. But my inaction is as good as being lending a hand. For that I'm ashamed. Thanks for the kick in the pants.

"[A]t the beginning of life and then at the very end, we have forgotten what the value of life really means."
That is because those are two times when society separates the participants from the main part and activity of society. Who is born at home any more? Mom is whisked to a hospital where the event occurs away from everyone, some visit her afterwards in a room at the hospital, but otherwise she went somewhere and came back with a baby. Might as well have been to a store!
The same with dying. Of my parents and grandparents, only my mother and one grandfather died at home in the presence of family. My father died in a hospital with us all there, the remainder died in hospital with only the hired help present.
Gautama Buddha's father created a household for his son that was devoid of old age, illness and death. Modern society has done the same, and the children know they lack something in their diet but don't know what.

RWS- one more thing. If McCain is the GOP nominee, I'll vote for him.
Also- you're doing the right thing. Live your life! If this internet thing catches on, you can always come back.
Finally, RWS also means 'real world stuff'. Enjoy.

ditto from me. I always felt respected and learned a lot from your blog. Good luck to you and bless you for doing the work that you do. My wife is and has been a caring geriatric nurse for 25 years and would echo what you say about the elderly not being visited by family.
Even tholugh you and I are often on opposite ends of an issue, selfishly I will miss your blog because it is the one that I most often directed my government students to read as a conservative voice of reason that had high standards for the treatment of people with differing views and to read about well researched conservative and liberal debates. Thank you for the blog I will miss it.

I know it has been a while since I last participated, but I have been checking in nearly every day and I will truly miss coming here. The catfights between Jandrew and JD, the snide wit of dave bones, the vapid onelinemanship and accusations of namechanging chicanery on the part of Jill, (or whatever she's calling herself these days) - life will not be the same.

I don't think I've ever seen such a look of misery and dejection on the face of my daughter as I just did a moment ago. She just couldn't understand why RWS would be leaving when so many things are wrong in this country. "Doesn’t RWS care about us anymore?" she asked pitifully.
I sat down with her on the sofa and (as calmly as I could) tried to explain to her why RWS seems to be abandoning her country. "Honey, I think her boss, Mr. Rove, sent RWS on a road trip in order to keep herself out of the newspapers. You see, he wasn’t sure if she was going to be arrested today or not, and so he planned RWS's trip ahead of time just in case...”
I tried to keep my voice steady, but it became increasingly difficult - the rage and feelings of helplessness were just too much. I think my daughter could tell something was wrong. I found myself at such a loss for words - nothing made any sense; nothing makes sense anymore. I finally had to admit, "Honey, I just don't know - I don't know what's going on in this country anymore..."
When I finished her lower lip started to tremble and her eyes began to fill with tears, "Daddy" she said, "why are the Republicans doing this to the country?" Well, that was it for me: I finally fell apart. She just fell into my arms and we both began sobbing for several minutes.
For once she had to comfort me and get me back on my feet. Sometimes I just think it's too much, but seeing the strength in my young daughter's voice helped me to get through.

You guys may win--because of Kerry's remarks but remember that Kerry is a decorated veteran. Neither Bush, Chaney or Rumsfeld can say the same thing. In fact, the Republicans questioned the patriotism of that Senator from Georgia who lost an arm, and both legs. No that is uncautionable coming from 3 men who did not serve. I understand that George Allen got a deferment as well. The question is --who really does not have respect for our veterans.
By the way, speaking of failure, I heard your own Bill O'Reilly say that Clinton presidency was successful.
Sorry to spit into the punchbowl of this party.

Hey Kathleen,
Here's some pictures of the people you and your readers -- but mostly you, since they live here in Houston with you -- are so afraid of. Can you spot the Muslims? Which ones are the terrorists? Which one will cut off your head? They are here already. Git under your bed! Follow the link if you dare!
On the other hand you could come speak to them and not be afraid. I don't want to meet you Kathleen. I want you to meet them. You really need to meet them. And they should meet you. It has the greatest potential for learning and building bridges. It's not about me Kathleen; it's about you and them.
You show up on the 4th floor of One Main South, Houston, Texas and I won't say a word to you. I will only point you to a classroom and you can say what you want.

MikeC, I guess when Kerry was saying our troops had been terrorizing women and children in Iraq last year was a botched joke too.
I'm sure there are some "decorated" policemen who have later gone out and done bad things too. Killed people even. Serving and being honored doesn't mean squat, and it doesn't give you eternal authority, and it doesn't give you a free pass for life. People change. And not always for the better.

I have a hunch, just a slight hunch, that RWS ain't gonna be in much of a mood to talk next week.
I know reality doesn't mean much to many of you folks, but according to the AP -
"One of the most endangered (repub House seats) is Rep. Don Sherwood of Pennsylvania, accused of abusing his ex-mistress. According to one person familiar with the case, he agreed to pay her about $500,000 in a settlement last year that contained a powerful incentive for her to keep quiet until after Election Day. Cynthia Ore has received part of the money, and will lose some of the rest if she talks publicly about the issue before then, this source said."
I'll be looking to read more about this on Malkin's site tomorrow...

Zed, if that's true the guy should switch parties because it means he has a great future in the democrat party. And as a democrat, he could go on to be a respected high ranking senator, or president. Of course if would have helped if he raped or groped her at work, (Clinton) or drowned her (Kennedy). This gets rewarded more, but still, in liberal land this would suffice....
In fact, if the dems win the House, we are about to see a former impeached judge (by a dem congress) for bribery, take on the chairmanship of the House Intelligence Committee. Alycee Hastings.
Whooo hoooo!
P.S. I feel like running for office as a democrat, but to enhance my resume maybe I'll go out and rob a bank first....

Good point. Maybe they are using reverse psychology...Bush was right, so I must vote D? Or maybe they think (like Kerry) that we are too stupid to remember Bush Lied? I'm confused. I'd better stay away from the polls on Tuesday.

From Fox News:
From the November 3 edition of Fox & Friends:
DOOCY: But one other figure from the Democratic Party. Have you noticed we really haven't seen much of Nancy Pelosi?
BRIAN KILMEADE (co-host): Nowhere.
DOOCY: A couple of -- what was it? About 10 days ago, she showed up in that blistering sound bite-fest on 60 Minutes, and she said a lot of stuff that rankled a lot of people. And she has been laying low, and the last time people saw her was at an October 21st fundraiser, and a few pictures were made there. But in the meantime, the only place she's really factoring in is she is starring in a whole bunch of GOP ads, and the message is: "Speaker Pelosi, is this the woman you want running the U.S. House of Representatives?"
CARLSON: And that's probably why the Democratic machinery has asked her, or demanded that she lay low in the days before the election, because that's really the Republican spin: Do you want Pelosi in charge?

From MSNBC:
From the November 3 edition of MSNBC News Live:
O'DONNELL: What about Nancy Pelosi? We were just showing pictures. She would be the speaker -- likely be the speaker of the House if Democrats win control. Where's she been the last week?
VIQUEIRA: Uh, she's been around. She had a big fundraiser with Bill Clinton in San Francisco. She's been conducting interviews with media. There had been Republicans -- operatives have been sending out emails over the last week saying, "Where's Pelosi? Where's Pelosi? Where's Pelosi?" She has been conducting some interviews, a fundraiser, she's been still flying around the country doing some fundraising events, but largely stuck to San Francisco. Her daughter is expected to deliver, incidentally, Nancy Pelosi's sixth grandchild just about -- right about now, and if that happens on Election Day, Nancy Pelosi's surely going to be nowhere to be found, Norah.
O'DONNELL: Oh, I find that hard to believe, Mike.
VIQUEIRA: No, that's what they're saying. She --
O'DONNELL: Really?
VIQUEIRA: She will be AWOL on Election Day if Alexandra, her daughter, delivers Nancy Pelosi's -- what would be Nancy Pelosi's sixth grandchild.

Because you were wondering.....
Nancy Pelosi will continue to be in “hiding” throughout the weekend, appearing at numerous public rallies, though Pelosi has indicated that if her daughter gives birth to her sixth grandchild this weekend as expected, she will leave the campaign trail. Here’s where she’ll be tomorrow:
1:30 p.m. Rally with Leader Pelosi, candidate Joe Sestak, Vice President Gore, and Governor Rendell in Radnor, PA
3:00 p.m. Rally with Leader Pelosi, candidates Lois Murphy and Bob Casey, Senator Obama, and Governor Rendell in Norristown, PA
4:30 p.m. Rally with Leader Pelosi candidate Patrick Murphy, Senator Obama, and Governor Rendell in Glenside, PA

Interesting from the Washington Times about Pelosi’s voting Record - wow we have been listening to how bad the Republicans are for two years finally, someone prints a Dems voting record - I’m floored
[snip]
She has voted against education IRAs. In 2003, she opposed a $10 million program for school vouchers in the District of Columbia. That same year she voted against the 10-year $400 billion Medicare prescription-drug bill because she preferred one that was twice as expensive. Mrs. Pelosi has repeatedly voted for tax increases and opposed tax cuts, even the 2001 bill that doubled the child tax credit to $1,000, among other cuts.
As the United States has become increasingly dependent on foreign sources for oil, Mrs. Pelosi has always opposed drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. In recent years, she has become protectionist — leading the opposition in 2000 against then-President Clinton’s successful effort to establish permanent normal trade relations with China. She also opposed giving Mr. Clinton and Mr. Bush trade-promotion authority; and in 2005 she voted against the Central American Free Trade Agreement. In 2004, she voted to end Radio Marti broadcasts to Cuba. She voted to reduce funds for the B-2 intercontinental bomber, which performed superbly in the 1999 Kosovo War, in 2001 in Afghanistan and in Iraq. Mrs. Pelosi has repeatedly opposed anti-missile defense, even as a nuclear-armed North Korea has tested ballistic missiles.

RWS- Sorry to see you leave your "blog"
Here in the Philadelphia "burbs" we have a very important election - and Nancy Pelosi is rallying with Ed Rendell (an easy win over Lynn Swan)
Bob Casey (see you Santorum) and Curt Weldon who has been in politics nearly all of my 38 years
he is behind Joe Sestak... all of the above listed Democrats lead here in my republican town.
Where will I be tomorrow? Working the polls.

Penn and Ohio are blue states. They have been suffering the worst from the economic policies of the Republicans, and the corruption hit way too close to home in Ohio.
Penn has many "morals" voters who are starting to wake up and realize that you simply can't legislate morality, and that politicians should be more focused on foriegn policy, the economy, and other issues than people's sex lives.

Love your country. Vote GOP.
P.S.
This is Bush's 6th year. The war is difficult and historically the president's party loses many seats, as they should have in these past 2 elections but have not. Not to mention the media in full court press mode in helping the democrats win.
And it STILL has been a long hard struggle for the dems and even now they're not totally sure about the outcome.
This should have been a CAKEWALK for the dems. It hasn't been. Even if they win, it wasn't easy. They're still in a panic.
