Last night was pizza night at my house. I made 4 pizzas and we polished them off with 4 and half bottles of cheap red wine. It was better than good, it was mmm, mmm good! After my friends left, I reread this post and came to the conclusion that the only way any of this made sense was if you were hitting the grape when you were writing it.
You wrote, "It would suit me just fine if we never mention Obama's race again. " which strike me as a little weird that you would feel that way especially since you wrote it in a post you wrote titled "Let's talk about race". Which is it? If you are sincere and really don't wish to discuss Obama's race, then don't write posts that start with the headline "Let's talk about race". If you want to talk about issues don't feature an obviously doctored video clip of Obama speaking with edited clips of the Def Comedy Jam audience spliced iin as your proof that Obama is a racist. I don't understand your argument that there is is a double standard for blacks and whites especially after reading you own example, Black Jackson lost the election after making those comments just the same as Allen did and if Jackson is still appearing on a political stage anywhere, it must be in a small corner of Houston because I haven't seen him anywhere in a very long time.
Sorry if I sound a little harsh but, as a nation, we really need a frank and honest discussion about race, not just debate about who gets the privilege of using the word nigger.

Interesting how you claim not to be a racist however you equate being 'black enough' with the Def Comedy Jam crowd. Believe it not Sparkle there are blacks who don't watch or like blue comedy shows or 'gangsta' rap (you didn't mention it but I'm sure you equate black with such). One day maybe you will learn other races aren't much different from yours. We eat with forks and knives (I'm sure you were as surprised as Bill O'Reilly to discover that.) Most of us aren't in or have not been to prison, most are not addicts. I've kind of liked your column up to this point. We'll see what stereotypes you post next.

Gee, I guess I don't equate black with Def Comedy Jam any more than I equate white with the Blue Collar comedy tour. My next door neighor is pharmacutical sales, my other neighbor is a computer systems analyst. All black. My son's best friend is black. Not to mention various friends of mine and my other children. So yeah, I kinda know that the black race isn't different from my own. So take your ignorant assumptions somewhere else.
