When the Sheeple wake up, how the Mighty will Fall.
How soon? How soon? Not soon enough.

If W increased federal spending more than any of the 6 presidents preceding him, why should Americans think another Republican would be any better?
Republicans had 8 years in the White House, six of which they also controlled Congress. They increased federal spending to a nauseating degree. That is part of the reason the party is currently in a wilderness of denial.

And now Obama makes that spending seem like a bargain by spending more than all the past Presidents COMBINED.
The tea parties are about our anger at Republicans as well. But we know that we have no where else to go. Republicans are the only ones who will return us to fiscal responsibility.

But what makes you think that? If Republicans got the snowball rolling, why should anybody trust them to be fiscally responsible now? They had 8 years to show that and failed. Why should anyone think they would be any better in the future? Saying it is not enough. Republicans must claw their way out of the hole they are in. If they can do that, once in office they must show through action they can be fiscally responsible. Republicans have not done that in a long time. First vote your own party members out of office with pols y'all think will be responsible. Then if they do good work, more will follow. Until then, it is just so much squawking.

Agree with most of that. We should vote the ones we are angry with out of office. But there are ALOT of good ones in there too.
honestly, Republicans will get one more chance to turn this around. If they don't. It's time for a 3rd party.

Methinks you give the "liberal media" too much credit. I don't recall this hegemonic force of evil delivering the victories of Mrs. Gore and Kerry. Blaming any given election outcome on the sinister media reminds me of the "culture of victimization" that certain ideologues (properly) criticize.

I didn't say the media alone was the force. It was his use of the new media and the mind blowing money of course. Kerry and Gore never had anything close to that money.

Sparkle the problem is that Americans choose not to use rightwing media. We have a choice and Americans choose what they want. No one is forced to watch NBC, they can turn to Fox and watch that if they want to.

As much as I agree with most above... I think the time for a strong 3rd party run is now. No better time. R's have shown themselves to be sneaky little crooks, just like the Dems. Sure there are some goood ones, and perhaps we can keep them. But I think we need to organize under a new banner - the conservative party.
Pains me....most of our best thinkers think this is folly (Levin, Gingrich...) I don't care - I'm fed up...

The most important thing we need to make sure of in 2012 is to nominate a conservative. If you give the people another choice between a real liberal and a luke-warm liberal - the real one will get another four years.

Rightwing, I am not sure that a third party is the right answer no matter how bad the Republicans or Democrats handle the situation.
Look at it this way the two major parties are the Rep and Dems, then you have the others that compose of less than 1 percent. Both the two major parties are roughly equal/balanced in supporters.
When certain parties fail to meet the request/expectations of its supporters, many of the supporters place their support in the other party.
This is essentially what happened this past election.
By creating a third party you would essentially be splitting the Rep party in half. If you do not like the Dem party now, then expect to never win again becuase neither the third party or the Rep party will ever be strong enough to beat the Dem party. The Dems in a manner of speaking will have won (divide and conquer).
If a third party happens the game is over. The major thing that needs to happen is to make sure that those Senators and Congress-people who have betrayed their party never again do so. We remind those of the party that its supporters will not put up with antics that they have been displaying. We need to return a reminder to them that they work for us, not for themselves.
My big example is Senator Arlen Spector. I live in PA and along with others, we have made it our personal goal/vendeta(sic) to make sure that he never steps foot back on the senate floor. It would also be nice to make sure that his defeat is a humiliating one. Now I am not sure how possible this is but I know that just his name is bitter tasting on the lips of fellow PA'er, so I think it should not be too hard.
