It is beyond irony that "the left" is supposed to be the group of "tolerance," "live and let live," "caring about people," and all that other fluff. Their attacks on Sarah demonstrate that they are actually about absolutism in forcibly imposing THEIR "beliefs" and non-"values" on the rest of humanity. It causes them great mental anguish to realize that we (particularly people of faith) hold to a standard higher than that created by any man - and that as a result we are truly eternally empowered as long as our faith is not broken.
It may be that Sarah does not need a formal institution as a platform. For instance, what if she were to become the itinerate, yet informal leader of the Tea Party movement? She has the magnetism, more importantly, the message, to draw a crowd anywhere and effectively rally the red-blooded Americans that are diluted among the downer-blue-libs in the urban areas.
The economy will continue its downward spiral. Obama policies will continue to destroy the private sector and just about every kind of non-gov, non-union job. This badness could accelerate very rapidly and Sarah could be perfectly positioned for the short and critical time-span of when slumbering America says "Oh-Sh**."
From an objective viewpoint, she has repeatedly demonstrated outstanding skill in making her own luck by being perfectly in the right place, at the right time, ready to apply her values and polite feistiness to clean up 'the town.'
We should be encouraged by her bold change-up of the rules. They may not be able to consciously recognize it, but her detractors did not see this coming and they are afraid to come to terms with their fear of the unknown power that Sarah can build among the people.

Thanks, RWS. This is the best response to Sarah's withdrawal from the Governorship. I appreciate your wisdom here. I, too, hope she will do what is right for her family, but I place the blame squarely on the lying, cheating, demonizing leftist bloggers and media, who would in no way "investigate" The Won as they did her. I hope her political future is not over.
11 comments and not one uses the full name "Sarah Palin", "Governor Palin", or even Mrs. Palin. "Sarah" seems to be all she needs. Am I the only one who finds that curious? This sort of first name familiarity is usually not given to US politicians - Its rather unsettling to see it bestowed on someone who has not won a major national election and who is resigning her current post.
I think it shows how well she relates to the common man. We feel comfortable calling her by her first name. Isn't it about time we had a politician like that? Instead of these rich elites who think they are better than we are?
Btw, Obama resigned his post as a Senator for the presidency. Why shouldn't she?
I, too, will support Sarah Palin in any public office position she goes after! I also think it is time there be legislation that families of politicians are off limits for personal political attacks!
What family hasn't had a situation of an unexpected pregnancy. Others would have 1. had an unwanted wedding 2. abortion and secreted the entire event.

Parents teach standards every day, and end up disappointed when a child chooses to ignore them, and take their own unbeaten path. Does that make a bad parent? Does that make a bad child? Nope....makes em human!

I am 68 year old solo-practice pediatrician (35 years+) and admire her stance for family values, and especially her "choice" (for a Christian not really a choice but a priviledge) to Have Trig and rear him to God's glory. This is a strong message that the Nation needs to hear more of.
I had completely written off the 2008 campaign till she was chosen as the VP candidate.
I agree she can be a strong voice for our Constitutional form of government, family values, limited government, free enterprise, and strong National Defence.
As a physicain, I believe she can be a strong voice to fight for our health care system , which is the best in the world. If we move to government controlled health care, we lose our freedoms, and socialism and statism will have won.
If she runs, I will support her. If she does not , but chooses to be a voice for conservatism, I will support her.
I have 5 grandchildren and have a great concern for their future.
May she follow the wise words given in Proverbs 21:1 " the king's (any leader) heart (inner thinking) is in the hands of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will"
