Gravatar We are not free. There is a tiny bunch of people calling the shots and no one is even interested in fighting them for freedom.

Gravatar Great post, hon. I linked to you in mine: http://www.nickifaulk.com/2008/1...e-you-thankful/

Gravatar >I worry about the future of our freedom. It can be taken away inch by inch.

you should be especially worried during this current economic crisis/government takeover of the economy. I mean, we just bought a piece of Citigroup Sunday night. Geez, I am sure glad that someone asked me.

Gravatar Dont get me wrong, I have a great amount of personal freedom but at whos expense.

Gravatar Awesome post, and very true!!!

Gravatar The current trend is so insidious. Our freedom is being eroded based on "safety" and "the greater good". Anytime you hear either of them, someone is about to sell you something.

In the GWOT, it is unfortunate that safety has been used as a selling point. In my opinion, battling evil is enough justification. When we crave safety, we lose the will to fight, and we end up where we are right now.

As for the greater good...in whose eyes? And at whose expense? It is neither greater, nor good.
