Gravatar ha ha ha or heee hee as Michael would say.

I am pretty much in agreement with all this, though I think it was Billie Jean which was the first "black" music which went on heavy rotation on MTV, opening the door for Prince and the others.

I also dont think Jackson was actually a paedophile, in that I don't think his relationships with children were actually for sex, but I don't think an adult sleeping in the same bed as a someone elses child is healthy either.

I like his music but he isn't a phenomenon to me.

Gravatar Sparkle "innocent" is usually used as a legal term. Jackson was innocent, as defined by the Constitution of the United Staes of America. And Sparkle Jackson was a creation of what America wanted, America made Jackson

Gravatar I think MJ had a horrible childhood. He was abused as were his brothers and it sickened me to see his father riding along in the car. He had no childhood and thus tried to live it as an adult. Because he felt no love as a child, he felt he needed anyone and everyone to love him. Sounds like a personality disorder. I don't think he was throwing back pills because of guilt. I think he was throwing them back because he did not love himself and found no self worth and tried to loose these feelings by taking drugs.

I don't know if the guy was a pedophile or not. I feel like he was stupid and naive enough to have a boy sleep with him in bed...but to abuse someone else having been so badly abused himself? Seems a little strange. Well he seems a little strange in general. Moreover, and this is simply a question, why as a parent would you let your kid spend the night at the house of an older man? That seems kind of idiotic to me. Would anyone here be willing to do that?

Gravatar Sparkle, I completely agree with you. This whole Michael Jackson death coverage absurdity is crazy. It kept the real news from being covered also. Jackson was very talented, and I am a fan of his earlier music, but he was nothing but a mentally ill child molester. How so many people can talk about him as some great black breakthrough is beyond me.

Gravatar Couldn't agree more Sparkle. Jackson's "trial" a few years ago ended in acquittal despite mountains of evidence that he was guilty as charged.

It was a textbook example of what's known in the law books as "jury nullification", which is what happens when a jury verdict is based on feelings and emotions instead of the evidence. OJ Simpson's acquittal was another example of that.

It's common knowledge that over a period of years Jackson and his lawyers paid other families untold millions of dollars in hush money to keep them from filing child molestation charges against him.

MJ was taking advantage of the horrifying fact that many parents are willing to sacrifice the innocence of their children for money.

What this whole sick story comes down to is this: America appears to be the only country on Earth where a drug addicted pedophile can be practically worshiped as a God.

What a sick society we have become.

Gravatar Look in the dictionary under "hyperbole" and you'll find all of this, particularly the memorial service. "he brought us all together," "he was the greatest child prodigy since Mozart," ad nauseum.

Talented singer and dancer? Yes. Mozart? To believe that merely reflects one's utter lack of knowledge of music and history. As to bringing us all together, that's merely a shallow platitude mouthed by those who are desperate to elevate their own significance by enlarging his, which is essentially the definition of celebrity worship. I'd like to meet the person black, white or other, who, upon experiencing a Jackson song, performance or video, said or thought "Wow! I am transformed. I now understand (fill in other race here) much better than ever before! Michael Jackson has brought me closer to my fellow man by his talent, crotch grabbing and crotch thrusting." OK, OK, that last little bit was too easy (yet true), but you get the point.

Jackson will be remembered in music history as an unusual, quirky talent during a specific pop music era, but nothing more. As to his influence on culture and history, sorry, but there will be none.

Gravatar John,

No, he was not found "innocent." He was found not guilty. It doesn't mean he was innocent.

Gravatar Thank you for putting into writing what I have been saying for DAYS. If one more person tries to convince me that Michael Jackson was a "humanitarian" I'm going to barf. Seriously. He was a sad, twisted man. My heart goes out ot his children. Kid's don't get a choice when it comes to parents. I'm waiting to hear the folks come out that were paid to shut up by his lawyers now that he's dead. May the circus live on....

Gravatar Feel and think what you will about Michael Jackson, it won't change how people loved him around the world. As for his molestation charges, did you miss the CNN program where the first child who accused MJ of molestation admitted that he was actually never molested and that he said he was because his father put him up to it?
Yes, I feel a grown man sleeping in the same bed with children is wrong, but I never believed MJ molested anyone.
As far as him being loved around THE WORLD, get over it. It is what it is and he did have a profound impact on those who loved and admired his talents.
Was he a tortured soul, definitely. Was he strange, yes. Should the amount of media coverage been spent on his death, and funeral, not at all; but as far as how he was sent off, he deserved every bit of it. As far as those of you who didn't like it, who cares. I felt it was befitting and hope that now that he has crossed over he will have the peace and sleep he could not get on this side.
Let him finally rest and allow God to judge whether he deserved the accolades he got from the public. God is an expert at His job and doesn't need any assistance from any of us mere mortals.

Gravatar >...but now that the Michael Jackson funeral circus is over...

That's what you think! That circus is never over!

Gravatar Anybody else who was raising children being that drugged up and we'd claim it was child abuse ....someone who was endangering their children.

And I can't believe everyone just sits there and treats Joe Jackson (the father) like he's a good ole daddy when it's so obvious in interviews that a lot of the reason Jackson is so screwed up is because of him. Weird.

And just like OJ, the blacks are suddenly trying to claim him as their own and use him to make a racial "statement." But don't they notice he put himself in a white world, dated white women, married white women, raised white children, and basically put on a white mask everyday!

Gravatar It was his funeral service. Of course it was overflowing with praise for the guy. What would you like, a eulogy listing every allegation made against him, and every bad thing he did?

Gravatar Titus, kids who have been abused go on to abuse all the time as adults. It's sad but true.
