I'm an old guy, and have voted Republican all my life, even this last time when it was common knowledge that McCain didn't have a chance. Not only that but McCain didn't represent my conservative leanings at all and always struck me as being to cozy with the democrats, in other words, a liberal. But I voted for him anyway since he represented the lesser of two disasterous evils. The point is I knew he was going to lose so didn't follow the campaign closely at all so didn't have the slightest grasp of what Palin was all about.
But now, NOW, that she's taken her middle finger and stuck it right in the eye of the elite, effete, wimpy republicans I see what others have already seen in her.
This is a woman I can get behind and support. She's reaching out to conservatives in either party. She obviously scares the hell out of the democrats and now she's doing the same thing to the republicans.
This I like.
They say she's not smart enough, didn't go to the right college, too backwoodsy. Nonsense. And, besides that, it's the voter who will decide, not the Washington insiders or the commentators.
Nope, I like this woman. I hope she runs in 2012. I'm not liking this socialist stampede that's about to engulf us.

I think too many Conservative pundits *cough*ed*cough*ace*cough* have been reacting emotionally and thinking hey, I wouldnt do this, so therefore it must be crazy and political suicide for someone else to do it. That said, I don't think others should be beating up on them because the future is not all that predicable and Sarah Palin probably has more suprises for us and none of use will have guessed 100% correctly when all is said and done. 
We are known by the quality of our friends, but we are best known by the lack of quality of our enemies. By that measure, Sarah Palin is in very good shape indeed.
My only question - who's her best running mate?

I have read your posts and comments about Palin's resignation...
she is a quiter! Obama quited because he couldn't be the president and a senator at the same time.And she has quited TWICE so far! I don't care about the short-notice press conference she hold to anounce her resignation...she could have called some reporters and had that conference at 2 am and I couldn't have cared less...however, the way she did it looks like the stunts some Hollywood actors pull before a movie release to draw attention to their movie...gee, this looks like Mariah Carey's announcement that she got married just days before she released her latest album, and guess what? it worked...there were plenty morons who bought it..
I think she is quitting not for Alaska,but for for herself.Before being nominated for VP, she was just another governor, just somebody from Alaska...but when she returned to alaska in november, she wasn't just another governor..she was Sarah Palin...THE Sarah Palin!
I think she got panicked because not long time ago her presence at a republican fundraising party passed almost unnoticed, the one Newt Gingrich stole the spot!
She has done wonderful things for Alaska, and I thought she was different than these washington politicians, but she is turning into one of them! She is quitting just for the love of money and attention! Yeah, more attention...with the money she'll be making from her book and speaking engagements, she'll have to pay therapists for her kids because they're just going to be chewed by the media..if you think you saw the worst of the media, think again! I feel sorry for her children!
The only reason her children will ever need therapy is because of the vile spewing hatred FROM YOUR SIDE that was inflicted on them.
She understands that as long as haters file frivolous lawsuits day after day as Governer she will get nothing done for the people of Alaska. It's call being unselfish. Unlike Obama who did NOTHING as a Senator for 2 yrs so he could ensure that he kept his Senate seat in case he lost. He puts himself first. Sarah puts her country first.
She deserves every penny she gets after you guys piling up hate filled lawsuits that get thrown out. She as half a million in legal bills and she isn't part of the rich elite. She's just like us. Except she is much stronger.

Sarah's ideal running mate in 2012 should be Bobby Jindal. Together they could beat out the Komrade and his gang of socialist thugs, without breaking a sweat.
