Obama is a socialist.
He did not want to have a floor roll call vote because then the world would know just how close the vote really is.
I was so hoping Hillary would win the nomination on the floor of the convention. But that is not to be.
Obama is not to be trusted; he is a radical socialist.
He wants to take your money and give it to someone else. (Called redistribution of wealth: a Socialist plank.)
I'm voting for McCain.

>One commenter said "I hope McCain has the good sense to realize the potential gift he’s been given!!!"
>He does sweetie, he does.
Then why are we still hearing that highup McCain advisors are pushing Joe Leiberman for VP? He does that and his campaign will crash in a bigger ball of flame than the last Zeppelin. I am not only one to say that. In so many words, Hannity said that earlier today. Rush has said similar things.

Good stuff RWS. One quibble. I think you meant to say the TalkLeft article was urging Hillary supporters to vote for Obama, not for Hillary.

Yes, I'm proud of ABC for doing a great job on exposing all the high $$$ rolling lobbyist activity going amongst that party that is supposed to be so (*cough*) "different."

I'd say that it's the Republicans that are the ones at this point that are trying to say over and over again "There's strife! There's strife!" to try and make it so. I was just watching Fox News for the past hour and they were talking about it and asking their floor reporter to say what she saw and she even said that she thought the mood was different today than yesterday and that people seemed united. She said something about the WA delegates dancing together or something. Hehheh. I'm really not that worried about the Dems that won't vote for Obama. McCain has some Reps that will not vote for him or vote at all either, but that seems to be getting much less press by the vaunted "liberal media" that has been wall to wall talk about Hillary for the past couple days.
As for Hillary being the "stronger candidate", I am still not buying it at all. She would have been slammed for being a divisive, angry, ambitious woman, a divider, blahblahblah, and on and on. Republicans are very good at attacking character, and everyone has something they could have gone after. I see the R's saying Hill should be the candidate as just trying to stir the pot to make their dream of strife come true. So far, I think that's been put to bed. Unless Bill says something outlandish or is tepid in support of Obama, I am not worried. Most of the other hurdles have been jumped already.

Oh I'm sure there are still HRC supporters that feel that way as well. If Obama gets a decent convention bounce of 5+ points at least then I think there will be less of that talk, but then of course all eyes will be on next week and what bounce McCain gets.
To be honest, I still think it could absolutely go either way, and I think you know that as well. I do think though that if I had to choose who I think will win, I think McCain has a better chance. Republicans are much better at attacking and Democrats are sometimes a bit reluctant even when given wide-open opportunities to go on the offense. Obama needs to be a bit stronger and more pointed toward McCain and his ideas, not just the surrogates. Five more months until W is done anyway, so I feel like I'm already playing with the house's money, as they say. *grin*

It's not that Republicans are better at attacking. Democrats love to say that pointing out the truth of their beliefs is "attacking." What Republicans are good at is showing the opponents true colors.

What do those commercials slamming Obama for being popular have to do with? What about the brand new one that says Obama said Iran was not a threat which was utterly out of context from his original quote which that it was not as big a threat as the Soviet Union was...i.e., Iranian troops are not going to be invading our soil. Low, dishonest blow, worst of the campaign so far in terms of complete distortion. Seen it yet?

Distortion? Obama had to change his tune, what a day later?
Speaking of videos Erik, seen the one about Ayers and Obama? Great judgement in picking friends that Obama has. Quite a trend for him.

Erik!
The commercials about Obama being popular illustrate that he is just a celebrity not ready to lead this country AND THAT IS TRUE.
Iran is tiny? That is what he said. Iran IS just as big of threat as the Soviet Union IF IT HAS NUCLEAR WEAPONS. It sort evens out the actual size of the country. All true. you make my point for me.

Come on. It is NOT true. The ad says Obama said Iran is not a threat. That is absolutely FALSE! He said it is not AS BIG of a threat as the Soviet Union was. That's true. Have you seen the ad and have you seen Obama's original statement? Can you say with a straight face that this was what Obama really said according to the ad? Do you want me to get the transcripts?

The transcripts show that he went from saying "They don't pose a serious threat to us", to it is a grave, serious threat in the space of one day.

You think so Purple Avenger? Well, according to Fox News their tracking poll had McCain up 2 points before the convention and now Obama up 1 (both within margin of error of course). I think they had a great night tonight. We'll see...we'll see...

Yes, keep saying it Jill and maybe it'll come true! I was mildly concerned about it on Monday. I am completely unconcerned about it now. What happened to the bitterness? What about the protests or even near riots? Where is all of this that you Republicans predicted? Predictably, it is all absent, and I am thrilled about it.

I never thought there would be riots. I can't see the Hillary girls doing that. What happened was expected. A bunch of hippies and dopers with no jobs but creative dress and signs "marching" along.
There was pepper spraying and enough arrests to fill that warehouse they set up. But it was about what I thought it would be.

I was referring to the re-create '68 group mostly. There will be protests at the RNC too I'm sure, but doubt they will be significant either. Hippies and dopers? Hahhah. Not sure if I'd go that far, but the protests weren't that big so they weren't covered heavily except on the conservative blogs. I wonder if you consider that MSM bias though because they didn't go out of their way to cover the small negative stories?

Obama is so empty and the dems are being propped up by our sick ass media. This whole week the media has been drinking and pushing the kool-aid. America is still the land of the free and socialism will not fly.
I say vote out all incumbents in both parties and bring in the independents. The current crop has become money hungry and power obsessed. Vote them out now and we may survive.

This is why I detest the Republican Party:
1. You don't go to war in Iraq just to make sure Republican-owned contractors can make money by allowing the slaughter of our troups. The Bush regime knows where Osama Bin Laden is but it isn't convenient for them because corrupt, mostly Texas contractors haven't made enough money.
2. Oil speculators (mainly Republican) certainly have made the oil industry alot richer again off of the blood of our American troops. Again it isn't convenient enough to end the war. Not enough money has been made while stabbing Americans in the back at the gas pumps.
3. More tax breaks to big corporations have been given during the Bush (II) administration and more jobs lost during this time. So Republican economic strategies don't work.
4. Since when do you allow the religious right dominate your thinking? First of all there are more cases of rape and incest in the evangelical community than there is any other group. People in Texas don't know if you are each other's brothers, nephews, uncles, fathers, grandfathers, etc? So how dare you pseudo god fearing people dictate any social policies in this country? But you folks like to play judge and jury at the same time. Get a rope!
4. And you folks hide behind the NRA and then mow people down if they don't agree with you: such as Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, and Robert Kennedy. Texas and the Republican Party has blood on its hands for the assassination of many good people however covered up.
5. We would have never had 9/11 had there been a democrat in the White House and one as mayor of New York City. But it was predestined to happen. It sure has helped your colleagues economically. I would rather be poor than again capatilzing in oil futures by allowing our American troops being in the line of fire on your colleagues behalf.
6. Since more Republicans live in the South, your KKK friends probably don't relish in the possibility of there being a black president.
7. I am going to do my darndest to do all I can to make sure Barack Obama is elected so he can get our troops back home so the effects of having them over there in Iraq won't pad your pockets or any of your friends.
8. Proud to be a Democrat, a liberal, and to love thy neighbor unconditionally. A Wisconsinite, we use to be America's Dairyland until Tommy Thompson squandered that away!!!
