Following on from Debi's "slainte" :0), I thought this might be appropriate (English translation at the bottom Rik, ha ha).
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat
Go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl
Go lonraí an ghrian go te ar d'aghaidh
Go dtite an bháisteach go mín ar do pháirceanna
Agus go mbuailimid le chéile arís,
Go gcoinní Dia i mbos A láimhe thú.
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
Congratulations Rik!! Love always Tania xxx

Oi! You missed me off your list of people to visit. I'm sure Tania wouldn't mind, in fact, bring her with you we'll have a cuppa lol.

Llongyfarchiadau Rik - un mil! Dyma lasiad i'r mil nesaf!
I just thought I'd show Tania that I can still do it! Welsh, that is... As Bryn could attest! BTW, I'm impressed Tania, I studied Irish Gaelic (Gaeilge) for my A Level Welsh! A colleague of mine in Germany who left Ireland 25 years back still speaks the language! Whenever we meet in Germany, he always comments on my attempts and errors! But he doesn't speak Welsh! Mind you, after a brew or three, we understand each other fluently

Tania, my favorite Irish "blessing" is this one:
May those who love us, love us.
And those that don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts,
And if he doesn’t turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we may know them by their limping.

Bertie, of course not! I hope you make your tea strong ;0)
The power of alcohol Aled lol. Fair play to you that you studied it for a while, I'm impressed! Although mixing Irish and Welsh could be lethal (Welsh with all the consonants and Irish with all the vowels) LOL.
Debi, there are a few in work that are limping... hmmmm. Ha ha.

Okay! I'm the 2nd stop! You won't be all that tired and over-drunken yet. However, I suspect you may still be a bit damp from the trans-atlantic driving bit.
Congratulations on your wordiness, Sir. May you type many more!

Hi Rik, plz to keep the posts coming, and the psychos at bay....
I know what you mean about Anglesey & travel links, sometime we feel like the Outer Rim planets described in the sci-fi series Firefly.... the new Air Anglesey link does not count, that's set up for Cardiff based politicians convenience, not ours.....
"Hedd a iechyd" to you & yours,
Bryn.
