I linked to it over on Ian's blog 'cause he'd posted something that reminded me of the thing about the guy with the weird stains. The article/interview is, like, a million years old.
Plus, well... have you ever tried to read Witchblade? I tried when Paul Jenkins (with some Rick Veitch thrown in) were doing it and... man. I dunno. Something about Top Cow comics just seems made to suck my will to live.
Also, I don't think I've ever seen a Hernandez Bros. comic in person. But compared to, say, Chase, a comic with a female detective=y woman, Witchblade is lacking. If you wanna be fair.
Believe me, I don't disagree that Witchblade sucks. But what they're doing is basically intellectual bullying.
Only Top Cow thing I've read with value was the original Magdalena miniseries. Sure it has the "Top cow style" of art and its own amount of flaws. But it was readable and I enjoyed it. Otherwise, the rest reads like pure ass.
Oh and according to 14 year olds everywhere, Dawn of the Dead is a ripoff of Resident Evil.

I wonder what Warren Ellis's response is to his acolyte knocking a comic he worked on. Now that's shocking!
Also they can't fucking spell Lara Croft's name. I've never played Tomb Raider and I can spell it just fine and I'd google if I hadn't been sure. Grrr grr grr.
It's pretty typical of SAVANT in those days, really. I loved the magazine for its mission of promoting good comics and trying to make it 'cool' to be a comic reader, but all the "Ha ha! Look at those silly mainstream fans, sitting in their parents' basements and masturbating over Wonder Woman comics!" got old quick.
Witchblade seems all right to me. But I guess that's 'cause all I've read of it is the pinup issues I got from... shit, I don't remember where. No words, just pictures.

Urban Legends 2 had that Noxema girl in it. She's hot. They didn't even show anything in that shower scene in Psycho. It was lame.
(takes out Wonder Woman comic and puts a copy of Urban Legends 2 in the DVD player)
There's a few funny lines in it, but yeah, they seem to be going over the obvious.
