Something I learned a long, long time ago in the gun "control" debate: the nannies will never give you a break. If you actually follow the rules that they say they want, then you have "found a loophole."
If you actually follow the law on when and where background checks have to be done and don't bother when they aren't, you are exploiting the "gun show loophole". If you comply with the idiotic cosmetic requirements of the now expired Assault Weapon Ban and take one of the scary components off the model that they wanted banned, then you are exploiting a "loophole".
