Hey, Becky! Some interesting thoughts here. I had to chime in on Paul Zelinsky's "Rapunzel," which is wonderful! We've read that and his "Rumpelstiltskin" several times this winter. Very popular here at home.

Becky, I really like your thoughts. I've several essays from distinguished children's librarians/authors that hold much the same sentiments. Writing for children is a serious task. I work with older (out of print) books and am aware of the beauty and joy they can open to young minds and hearts.
