I'm first! I've never been first with Poetry Friday before. My poem is "Putting the Good Things Away," by Marge Piercy.

I love Ogden Nash's funny rhymes. Thanks for posting it, and also for doing the round-up.

Whoops, I should have read the post more closely. Well, then, I'm second at least.;)

WOW! Thank you for finding me! (I'm in Australia, so I just posted and then have been checking back through the day so I could comment once you had posted) Sorry Alkelda ;)

I'm in with William Shakespeare - again !

Thanks for hosting the round up !

I'm in with a couple of haikus by writer/illustrator/beechnut-nut Cece Bell.

I'm jumping into the fray for the first time. Thanks for hosting.

Drop by Wordy Girls and add your 15 Words or Less poem based on this week's photo. Put it in the comments and I'll add it to the blog post. Thanks!

Thanks for hosting! I'm in with a patriotic poem, The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus.

I'm in with an original poem, inspired by Charles Bukowski.

I'm in a patriotic mood today: America the Beautiful

Thanks for doing the roundup, Becky!

I'm already thinking about the Cybils. At Wild Rose Reader, I've included links to all my reviews of children's poetry books published in 2007. I'd like to get feedback from readers about their favorite children's poetry books of the year.

At Blue Rose Girls, I have a poem about discovering "a new poet" that was written by Linda Pastan.

For some reason I had C.S. Lewis and Joy Davidman on the brain this morning. I'm in with a little about their story.

Thanks for doing the roundup Becky!

Thanks for plugging the Carnival of Children's Literature! The link is broken, so here it is again:

Can't quite make out the wave, there's either an inuksuk or a polar bear in the way ;)

Btw, your link to my blog, simply comes up as "http://editme" which is either a subtle hint or a mistake.

Alkelda, you're very welcome and the link should be fixed now.

John, that was a mistake, not a hint, very sorry. These linky posts can drive me nuts. It should be fixed now. But I'm not up to tackling the polar bear in the way!

I'm in with a haiku about blueberry picking.

I found this poem online and it struck me since it begs the question as to who can claim the rights to a piece of land.

I'm in with some Emily Dickinson. Better late than never.

I'm in with Lawrence Ferlinghetti - seemed like a firefly kind of day.

Hi Becky,
I'm in with some poems on infinity.

Thanks for rounding us up!
Have a great weekend.
Tricia

I'm plunging in. This is my first post, and my first time with Poetry Friday. Thanks for hosting!

Oooo... fireflies. The other night, we were 7 again and found a mason jar and punched holes in the top, added some grass and ran around the backyard, catching some. And then let them go...

Anyway, I'm in this week with a little Emily Dickinson

I'm stumbling into the mix here as I think this is such an awesome idea and I have to be a part of it!

I've contributed a dear Mary Oliver poem that is one season removed. The line I love the best:
Quick, then - open the door and fly on your heavy feet; the song
may already be drifting away.

So, I'm off the computer chair and out the door to catch the song of the day.

Love that you are doing this!

Thanks for hosting the round-up! I've got a poem for Kissing Day up here: http://www.pixiepalace.com/2007/...ay-kissing-day/

I'm in with a review of A World of Wonders: Geographic Travels in Verse and Rhyme by J. Patrick Lewis, illustrated by Alison Jay.

Thanks for doing the roundup!

hey, Becky. I am sliding in under the wire (again) with a link to Cathy Song's poem "Waterwings."

Thanks for rounding up!

Thanks for doing the round-up and sorry to be so late. I posted a July Elsa Beskow poem as well as the coding for the button with link to your round-up.

Thanks for the poem and for the coding, Suzanne. I'm hoping when I see your post I'll understand what you mean! And no-one should apologize for being late -- I've missed enough days, or even slid in on a Saturday!

It's not midnight here yet!
I'm in with Leonard Cohen.

You Canadian in B.C., you :)

I was hoping this round-up would net a few of the not so usual suspects...
