I suppose if you could get your own personal stash of that purple glue you might be set... (as for all the occasions to be in Emergency, my friend the GP says that if your kids haven't been in the emergency room before 5 years of age, you are probably over protective.)

Glad to hear you found an accompanist but how awful for Laura. I hope the teacher takes some responsibility for not only putting off finding an accompanist but also for telling her in such an inappropriate fashion.

We were given the leftover purple glue and kept it in the fridge for a few years. But it's VERY sticky stuff and the fridge now has a wee purple patch in a corner.

I like the way your friend the GP thinks :)

Love Laura's choice for a poem.
Someday I would love a list of poetry books in your house or even a photo would do :)

Glad to hear all the kids are on the mend from their trauma. And yay you for finding an accompanist while cooking dinner and shoring up confidence at the same time.

Karen, maybe one day if I'm brave enough I'll take a photo of Farm School's poetry corner, and you'll see that there are books piled up on the floor under the shelf and more books lying on top of the shelved ones. Though a list of our books might be a fun entry for a future Poetry Friday post. Hey, something to think about (thanks) :)

I'd love a list.
We have one good-sized shelf and a basket of library books devoted to poetry - but I would imagine your collection is far far greater than mine (knowing how you stash and all). :)

I did pick up a few on clearance at Chapters after Christmas (for ahem $1.50 per book)and I keep meaning to go back and see if there are any left. They are lovely little books in a series devoted to different poets (Stevenson, Whitman, Rossetti, Blake etc)- adult ie no illustrations and hardcovers with pretty covers. I also got a decent collection called the Children's Treasury of Verse illustrated by Paticia Ludlow at the thrift store the other day for $1. It's heavy on RLS but has some other nice ones as well.

Not that I am trying to make you jealous or anything
