Have you considered changing Davy's name to Natty? |
I don't know, Becky, I think a longhouse is definitely in your future. Think of the storage for all those projects! |
Well, it's a good thing you are homeschooling that boy. You would be in for discussions with the teacher/principal so often you'd think you lived there otherwise :-) |
You know, a longhouse would be a good place for little Natty/Davy to leave his sinew and other bits. |

How cool for Davy! He is a kid after my own heart. I remember hunting iwth my dad and uncles and bugging them for their hides as well. I made mocassins(of two different sizes, unfortunately!)and a few other things. It is so great that they are getting into all fo this! We have always loved the Foxfire books for interesting tidbits about traditional crafts. I will check with a Lenni Lenape friend for book titles for you, as he still teaches this sort of thing at Pow_Wows locally. |

Wow. We have serious snow envy! The paleotechnics link looks very interesting, and timely, as we're studying early humans right now. |

Angela, thanks, that would be terrific. I've just discovered that Joseph Bruchac's son James has some interesting stuff. We do have my parents' old Foxfire book (the first one); maybe moonshining is in our future too... We're picking up Davy's winterized mukluks today, so he should be a happy boy. |
