There are car advocates who think reduced polution vehicles are the answer. What they forget is every car demands one hell of alot of impervious surface. At a minimum a parking spot at home, at work, and where you shop. And then add the average road space needed. And all of this is NOT going to be in urban oriented pedestrian friendly areas.
