Gravatar It's a very contemporary SF web design. Reminds me of the art school websites -- SFAI and CCA -- and the museum websites: Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and SFMOMA. So it at least appeals to the SF aesthetic. I suppose you have to know your market.

The best resource, though, is 511.org. It's the only website that gives the complete regional transit landscape. And in the Bay Area -- with different counties and cities plus regional transit agencies (local control!) -- its nice to have something giving the big picture.

The Bay Area accepts gridlock (metaphorically) in order to preserve multiple agencies and process. That's the SF way! (It's the City that Knows How, contrast that with Chicago's the City that Works). Combined with a West Coast distrust of large government bodies and you have sort of a patchwork -- fortunately, out of that is developing some interagency cooperation.

I had to look up what the SFMTA was though, I knew that Muni and DPT were merged (via voter initiative), but I forgot that they created a whole knew board structure and agency.

Gravatar The only thing is I think there's a bit too much text on the landing page. But it's well thought out, and I like the organizing framework, as I mentioned.
