This all seems very similar to things that have been happening in California in healthcare delivery over the last 10-15 years from the clinic system that SF Department of Public Health uses in association with research at UCSF to the doctor groups that are part and parcel to healthcare in California and particularly the advances that more progressive ones like the Stanford Medical Group have used to the amazing work with the Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic that IDEO has consulted on (Stanford based with offices in San Francisco -- and now many other cities).
