Gravatar I don't think they can make the escalators at National any wider, since they have two side by side for each platform. There's no space to spare.

Likewise, there are TV arrival/departure screens at the station as soon as you leave the faregates. On the platform, there's lots of signage telling you which way to go based on the airline you're flying with.

All in all, National is one of the best airports in the nation to fly in and out of.


Gravatar Sure, not at National now, unless they rebuilt the fare gate area. But with experience (and hindsight), it's fair to discuss what should have been done. And ideally, this type of learning gets fed into the Dulles planning. U r right about the screens, although that was added with the new terminal connection, and you're right it's awesome.

I haven't ever taken the SEPTA regional rail to the Philly airport. The light rail experiences for Minneapolis and Portland are ok, but DCA is better. Portland is a really long trip.
