Thanks for your tireless work on these issues. Take heart that change does come, albeit slowly. H Street, Brookland will all be improved in due time. But sometimes that change is hard to come by, and extremely frustrating when you directly involved in it.
What is the current status of many of the Brookland development projects? I know there are many in the pipeline, but wasn't sure if the real estate market stopped them dead in their tracks. I think once some of the denser residential is built, there will be a critical mass...

I think you're looking at a minimum 3 year delay for most projects (EYA at St. Paul's College, Abdo's CUA project). I don't know about Rhode Island Place (the RI Metro parking lot). Other smaller projects are delayed as well (1300 RI Ave. NE, others).

Isn't the "organization you used to work for" the same one that mismanaged nearly $300,000 in Mainstreet funds? And, couldn't show where the majority of it went...oh, and on top of that, left Brookland with nothing to show for it?
Great job...but, I guess it's easy to just come/go when you don't have roots in the community, by say, living there.
Fundamental problem #1 to neighborhood development is when those who are employed by the "community" development board ARE NOT FROM the community.
Thanks for pissing away $300k, RL, we'll miss ya.
