Gravatar Setting aside the illegal placement, that sign looks so unprofessional it's hard to believe it actually comes from the Wizards organization. But that is their real website, opening night game, and slogan. Did they hire a local (and misguided) PR firm as a part of their community outreach program?

Gravatar It would be one thing if the "issue advocacy" folks removed their posters--just like political candidates and the ANC is required to do after the event or election is over--but they don't.

Two weeks ago, GWU, for the second year, plastered over 100 posters for a three-hour "block party" on streetlight poles all over Foggy Bottom. This "event" was "sponsored" by a GWU-created and financed group called FRIENDS. The only "issue" that GWU is advocating is to intimidate and challenge our legitimate neighborhood civic association.

This is illegal and the fine for each one of these posters is $25, which adds up to a good sum for GWU's trashing of our public space.

The university isn't the only offender. As the student population has rapidly de-gentrified the 'hood and replaced the adult population here, we have had to work very hard on the poster/graffiti issue. The peace activists seem to think that a college campus in our midst gives them free rein to deface public property at will.

Gravatar Hi Friends

I think the criteria of this contest may be of interest to you:

http://www.erikthevermilion.com/ ...worlds.best.htm

Do you know of a city that may qualify as “World’s Best?

Gravatar Sounds like a pretty screwed conservative "contest" if you ask me. From the website:

Any city with buildings above 5 stories are automatically disqualified, they are inferior cities and should never win a "Best City" competition.

...

Any city with fluoridated water will also be disqualified from the competition.

Maybe Wendell Cox and Randal O'Toole have some nominees. Not me.

Gravatar Sorry, this blog was in search results from "ecology earth". My (google's) mistake.
