Larry, is it possible to delete my post where I gave all the reasons that no team has come back from being down 3-0 because the crow I'm eating is hard enough? Hang in there. This goes for all Yankees fans.

Clean your apartment? You're really taking this way too hard.

Nah, I don't believe he'll really do it
Put on Family Guy, that'll get you laughing some.
Or go watch Jon Stewart go off on the Crossfire guys again.

Hey, and look on the bright side, you can be rid of Torre.

It is over. I changed channels so I didn't have to watch them celebrate on the Yankees' field.
Larry, don't stay away too long.

I'll have fun watching the Sox choke in the World Series this year. I was too young in 1986.

George better give the job to Willie, but I think he's going to clean house.

I implore all Yankees fans to show the class that some of our compatriots failed to show at the Stadium, and root for the Red Sox to finally win one.

Sorry Larry, but while I respect the Red Sox' acheivement, I refuse to like them.

Don't like them. Just root for them to get one.
Just one.

Not me, never. You root for them. They've got your support, maybe that counts for something for them.

Well, I'm not rooting for them, per se. Rather, I'm wishing them well. I won't root against them winning, I won't root for the other team.
I won't be watching.

I'd rather see either the team with the best regular season record in baseball (Cards) or the team from my city of birth (Astros) win.
I'm not going to root for the Sox, but if the Sox do win it all, I'll gracefully accept a little well-deserved gloating from my Sox-fan friends (over and above their gloating over the ALCS). That's as far as I'm willing to go.

As Atrios pointed out, the last thing this country needs is a Massachusetts-Texas World Series.

I'm a life-long Yankees fan, my dad is a life long Red Sox fan (go figure).
He was right next to me in 1996 - Game 6 - in Yankee Stadium and celebrated with me when the Yankees won it all. It was a father taking joy in his son's happiness.
Dad has endured 66 years of frustration from the Sox. Now that the Yankees are out of it, let the Sox end all this curse talk and win the World Series. Until they do that, the "curse" will continue. Let them have their fun. They beat us...as hard as it is to take.
Dad, this is for you: "Go Sox! I hope they win it for you."
After the series we can get on with fixing this flawed team. In a way, it is surprising that the Yankees even got this far with the pitching we've had all year. It's a very flawed team. I hope Torre and Cashman stay. I hope we make smart moves this winter.
It's always sad when baseball season ends. I hate waiting for Spring Training. Is it only 181 days away?

I can't understand why any Yankee fan would root for Boston to win the series. Red Sox Nation hates us every year out of jealousy. You can bet everything that if the Yanks were in the series, everyone not only in New England but everywhere else in the country would be rooting against them.
I can't bring myself to root for the Sox. Despite the fact that Yankee fans never seem to gloat, despite the past 85 years, the Red Sox nation around here has been far too ungracious in its lone victory. I have to admit that I want to watch them suffer over the next two weeks.

"You can bet everything that if the Yanks were in the series, everyone not only in New England but everywhere else in the country would be rooting against them."
Very true. Why? It's simply because over the past decade, the Yankees have gone to (and won) a lot of World Series. A lot of fans -- even those outside of New England -- are just tired of seeing the Yankees there.
"Despite the fact that Yankee fans never seem to gloat"
Then you don't know the Yankee fans I do .Or the ones that come to Fenway. Or bring their signs and chants to the Stadium. (And yes, Sox fans can be just as obnoxious -- and they are, this year.)
"despite the past 85 years, the Red Sox nation around here has been far too ungracious in its lone victory."
I've heard & read so many Yankee fans being so upset, angry, and depressed about losing this series -- and I completely understand and sympathize. But this is only *one* black mark on the history of the Yankees. Go without a World Series in for another 80 years, pepper it with fiascos like this year's ALCS along the way, and we'll see how gracious future NY fans are...

Sounds like you're a little bitter about your team's checkered past. I don't blame you.
