Thank you for posting a photo of the Cairo-Los Angeles Friendship Committee's rose bowl parade float. I was watching the parade on T.V. and caught a glimpse of the Egyptian themed float just miliseconds before the network went to commercial, then switched to another network to try to see it there. To my amazement, that float was totally omitted from both CBS and NBC's coverage of the parade! I was curious about the float so I dug in on my computer and as good fortune would have it, you had a good photo of the float. Thanks again! - tomason33

Hi Thomas,
Thank you so much for your comment. I was just talking to a friend in Nebraska who said she was looking for it in the parade also but didn't see it, and I just posted that it won the Past President's Award for most creative use of floral and non-floral designs. I don't remember when a float which has won an award was NOT shown on television-in fact the media has ALWAYS announced them and purposely shown them.
I don't know about you, but that seems like a suspicious omission to me! And I would HOPE that the Cairo-Los Angeles Friendship Committee makes a formal complaint to the media.
Happy New Year Thomas, and may your year bring joy and peace.

Yes, it's a very aggrevating exclusion when one considers the time, effort, and talent that clearly went into that project. However, I watched the Travel Channel's coverage of the parade and they did a superb job of covering ALL of the event including many interesting details about each participant. As a Freemason and a Rosicrucian, I wanted to hear and see more about the Egyptian float in particular, and thankfully that curiousity was satiated. Love your blog! T.S.

Hi Thomas,
Thanks so much for letting me know the Rose Parade was covered on the Travel Channel. I should have known to watch it there but just didn't "think" to be quite frank. So now that I DO know, I'm going to check out the Travel Channel to see when it will be rebroadcast, especially since it seems from your description that their coverage was much better than the MSN.
Come back by to "visit"-I'm looking forward to "seeing" you again. Take care.
