Gravatar You know Ms. Robin I really don't understand why such a law is still enforced. It seems like a combination of politics and prejudice. As I get older I do not understand why certain laws and events are still prevalent. The professor should definitely should build a case.

Good post, Ms. Robin!

Gravatar ALMIRA!!
So wonderful to hear from you dear. When I got my teacher's credential I had to sign it. It was 14 years ago and I put up a fuss with my professors. Thing is, I don't mind swearing loyalty to the US Constitution, BUT, the powers that be think you are swearing loyalty to THEM! Just like with Ehren Watada who took the military oath which makes you loyal to the Constitution, NOT to the powers that be who have twisted it, and NOT to enemies, both foreign AND within. (as in engaging in a war that is ILLEGAL per our own Constitition)Signing loyalty to the California Constitution though is certainly not my cup of tea, BUT if there was etver anything iffy, then the US Constituion supercedes it. But this teacher has a very valid reason why she wanted to add the adendum and it is WITHIN the legal boundaries of the Constitution for her to do just that. To me it is just something to hang over your head, then if ever a time comes the government can say, "YOU SIGNED THE OATH", but signing that oath does NOT mean going along with whatever they tell you to if it is against your rights. I think if I had to sign something like that again, I for SURE would be doing just what this teacher did. The mere fact you can be denied employment because of it is SCAREY!

MISSED YOU and hope all is well, blessings Almira.
