Gravatar Dammit--some nice reporting here.

Excellent post!

Gravatar Thanks! From you I take that as an ultimate compliment! I could use your wit on the Frog Marching Post below...Seems I've got me a stalker.

Gravatar 'Despite claims of ignorance of NSA programs, Pelosi was present at SIX briefings.'

How would that rule out her ignorance?

Gravatar She was at six of the 30 briefings including those held shortly after September 11, 2001. Unless she was sleeping during those meetings... Claiming ignorance is not a defense for Pelosi in this case. Facts override her claims.

Gravatar Bandit,
This topic pisses me off more than anything else going on right now, mostly because it is the topic I am closest to. I will just restate what I said at CIR, do the math bandit:

"There you go, you have your blessed oversight; I know you don’t want to admit it but it was there all along. Should I now assume that you will not only hold the President accountable? Of course not. Liberals will use this information to make more insane charges against President Bush. I have a crazy idea if you are in that boat. Oversight does not mean you get to listen to the information and throw the responsibility of doing things about it the other way. Now they know, for certain, if it is so bad they should be ending the program by any means correct? Did they? No. Are they? No.

Note: What good is oversight when you have Pelosi and others receiving the information for years and doing nothing about it? If anything you should hold the members of congress more responsible than the President. If he is one man and they are many, why did they not end something that you seem to believe violates your rights?"

I have your answer! It isn’t violating your rights, is not illegal, and is necessary for national security.

Gravatar Oh yeah, and on BAYH: What an idiot, when I saw him walking by the camera and say that I must have "Tivo replayed" it 10 times. I really couldn't believe someone would say that. And these are the people you want telling the INTELLIGENCE community what to do to stop terrorism?

PS - I know what I know until I forget it, then I don't know it anymore.

Gravatar I'm curious. Are you related to Robin Mullins Boyd, who authored this?

Are you ever concerned that the "female future generations" cited in that article and their ability to "stay home and raise" their children will be impinged upon by ongoing military crises in countries far away, with no predictable resolution of those conflicts in sight? The author of that article worries about homicide bombers in her local pizzeria. Do you share her concerns, and are you furthermore fully convinced that Bush's current policies are protecting you from such an event, given the explosion in terrorist attacks around the world since the invasion of Iraq?

I do find it amusing that trying to get answers to questions is regarded as "stalking" on a blog that invites comments. You are certainly entitled not to answer any questions you aren't capable or comfortable to deal with, but stalking is a whole other kettle of fish. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're referring to someone else. If so, good luck with that, you may want to consider contacting your local authorities.

Gravatar Mr. Bilfil
Yes that is one of my articles. I am concerned about our future generations but not because of the potential for future military action. I am concerned about what kind of world will be left for them or what kind of country they will have if we do not confront terrorism at its source and put protections in place for our safety.

Yes I still worry about homicide bombers in our pizzeria but not nearly as much as 5 years ago on September 11. I believe that the policies and actions of President Bush and his administration have served us well.

As far as an "explosion" in terrorist attacks since we went into Iraq, have any been committed on OUR soil? But do not forget the number of terrorist attacks against US interests prior to Sept 11. Now if you consider the "insurgents" in Iraq as terrorists, then that is a whole different story.

Do I feel safer today than 5 years ago? You bet I do.

Gravatar Mr. Blifil: " not to answer any questions you aren't capable or comfortable to deal with."

Excuse me if I missed out on some earlier insight of yours. But do you mind if I ask YOU a question?

Do you have an effective plan to deal with terrorism and confront some of these very issues which you seem to accuse Robin of ducking?

Thus far, you folks have just complained, whined, protested and obstructed every policy, program and initiative brought forward by YOUR federal government to deal with this issue.

And when backed into a corner, the BEST we get from you folks as an alternative is that you would somehow do it "better."

Now, I realize it might be asking a bit much for you to tell us what this "better" is. Thus far, from John Kerry on down all we've heard is some version of Bush-lite.

Frankly, those of us who have spent decades studying national security issues and have been witnesses to the history of what works and what does not are left scratching our heads trying to figure out exactly what you people would do other than raise the white flag.

Perhaps you can enlighten us. After all, you people claim to be able to do it so much "better."

Gravatar Do ya ever get the feeling that there is very little intelligence on the Intelligence Committee?
