Yeah, nice poppy! Poppies grow well here in Austin, and we used to have a nice display of "wild" red poppies in Zilker Park, a large popular park near the center of town, but in the 1990s the Parks Dept. rooted them all out. Something to do with drug hysteria, I imagine. All poppy species--opium poppies, oriental poppies, and corn poppies, have significant amounts of opiate alkaloids, but I never saw anyone down in the park harvesting sap.
