Considering the general level of stupidity displayed in America, especially during the past five years, I predict this campaign will be spectacularly successful.
I do not believe in karma, for oh so many many many reasons, the past five years notwithstanding.

My husband and I were watching the speech last night, and he nodded off... When he woke up, he said "good, if he's making a speech that puts me to sleep, that means the speech isn't going to fire people up."
My take is that he's lost it. If the elections were'nt being stolen by the repukes, then we'd have nothing to fear. As it is, I think they'll either have to let the next one go, or be caught obviously stealing it.
Interesting times, the curse of the under class.
Did you see Bush's 'apology' earlier in the week? His body language was really funny. It looked like taking responsibility for the federal government's failures was the hardest thing he had ever done.
As for Rove directing hurricane relief, I think that just demonstrates the administration's valuing of politics over competence when it comes to providing government services.
TroutGrrrl-- I don't feel any better after hearing the speech. The only thing I can hope is that the GOP will go at each other over big government and deficit spending. Then, the democrats can emerge with ideas, if they have any.

SBGypsy-- the pirate listened to the speech more closely than I did, I was doing the dishes, and yelling things at the TV. Yes, if these guys weren't stealing elections, they could be effectively voted out of office. Chilling times.

I am so bothered by the people who listened to the speech and said, "well, good. He's doing something." I'm thinkin' WHAT THE HELL????? How could anybody either forgive his doing nothing for so long, or believe any promises that come out now? Sheep, I tell you, sheep! Good luck to all of us. We are so screwed.
