since you are doing the lugging into the trailer, it's great it arrived early! any local teenagers you can hire to help with the heavy stuff?

we had a local moving co. come and get the heavy stuff last month. that helped a lot, and was worth every cent. the move from the sierras to the coast in 2001, we drove a u-haul, but we decided to take it easier on ourselves this time. (we're older now!)

The thought of moving makes me have hot flashes, and not any good kinds!

Interesting way to move. It helps to move every few years to keep the 'stuff' down. I dread the thought of when we have to leave this farm as it's been over 30 years and not just house but accumulated farm tools and implements 
Not to mention the cattle and sheep. Boy it won't be fun which might keep us here 
if you have more room than you need, you can get away with not stacking things so high -- always a good move!

Rain--in an earlier period of my varied life i moved with sheep, goats, chickens, and a beehive. boxes don't require food, and don't produce waste.
there you go. moving from here is better than moving with a beehive! or goats!
maybe you can bribe neighbors with wine and pizza? plus whatever gus the green house has going?? i'd be thinking of serious bribes along about now, but that may be because i'm a moving wimp.
Don't forget, for anyone who is helping you: donughts and coffee in the morning, pizza and beer at the end.

I wish that the trailer we used on our last move was that small. And we're thinking about moving again next year. Yikes!
Good luck with the move. The thought of another makes me shudder. We still have half our "stuff" in storage after downsizing a couple of years ago. We have given up visiting it. It just sits there. And we thought it important enough to store!
Would this be the weekend that you're moving to warmer climes?

moving is the ultimate nightmare. i still have boxes in the garage from our laqst move, ten years ago. now i have a new philosophy - it i haven't opened it in 3 years, it's gone without being opened.............

I'm kind of feeling like crying. I got to know your house and especially your yard and I'm gonna miss it all. I feel like we are all moving away from something very special.
