Gravatar I'm sorry for your loss. Love those river otters. They are amazing. Enjoy them while you can! Here in Santa Cruz county, we only have those pesky mountain lions walking around the local malls. Not quite the same thing.

Gravatar Maybe there should a National Rock Peeing Day.

Gravatar what a fine way to remember a friend, so recently lost. xoxo

Gravatar Robin and Roger - what a fine tribute - the rocks are too heavy to flip today. My best regards to Don and especially his loved ones.

Gravatar Thanks for a very moving post. Hope you don't mind if I include it in the IRFD roster anyway.

Gravatar I'm so sorry for your loss. A heavy heart is harder to carry than a heavy rock.

Gravatar Lovely post and tribute.

Gravatar Beautiful tribute. We should all be so lucky to see otters peeing on rocks.

Gravatar What a nice post. I saw swarms of dragonflies later that day!

Gravatar I love obscure holidays like this. Unfortunately, I discovered this post too late to participate. I will not be peeing on any rocks, either.

Gravatar Beautifully written, perfect tribute.

Gravatar beautiful tribute, indeed.

great photos.

meaningful observations. hugs.

Gravatar That we can grow so close to those we meet here is one more thing that illustrates our amazing capacity to love!

A wonderful tribute...

Thank you both for being you!

alan

Gravatar I kind of like your idea of not flipping rocks that were too big, but finding these great things on them.

Gravatar A heartening way to honor Don's love of life.

Gravatar Robin & Roger,
Thanks so much for thinking of Don on this day, and dedicating this post to him. I know that he was probably with you in spirit as he loved that part of the world and had hoped to visit with you this autumn.

Gravatar Nice tribute to your friend and as always enjoy the pictures. I don't read enough blogs, I guess, because I only heard about it after the fact in another blog. Since I love rocks, I think it's a great idea. I was out picking blackberries with kids and grandkids, across the creek, so could have flipped one too if I had known. Perhaps I need to get out reading more

Gravatar Bev's post about Don is one of the most centered and moving tributes I have ever read. I was smiling at FC's mother and daughter and now I'm not, thinking of Bev's loss but here, as usual, I feeling grounded. In your own inimitable way, you are rock solid.

Gravatar everyone should know a love like theirs!
beautiful. good thoughts to the bums.

Gravatar Lyrical, lovely and gentle tribute to a passionate and lively spirit. Thanks, we always miss the energy of the good the conscious, the courageous and the compassionate. Peace MandT

Gravatar What a lovely tribute. And visiting the site, I think - yes, if only we could replace the rocks in our lives so perfectly.

Gravatar I didn't know what to say, Bev's loss is so deeply sad. My heart goes out to her.

Gravatar That was a beautiful thought and follow through.

Too much about the "cat" near the creek. My sister didn't live too far from there a few years back too.

Wish we were there now! ; )

My best to you both!

Gravatar I'm glad you included the link to the blog explaining about Don. His wife said he'd never smoked, but died from lung cancer. We recently lost a close friend due to breast cancer. She had never smoked, either. Cancer is such an awful life taking disease.

That tidbit about the otters getting out of the river to pee on the rock is funny. I guess they don't want to spoil the water

Gravatar That Otter behaviour is interesting.

Gravatar Lovely post - so moving. Thanks
