I'm imagining you motoring along through Smith River country, and then on down through the Redwoods. Oh, to be there too. (-:

Great update! Oh, poor Bonny-Boy. Lil' traumatized kitty. Which, in turn, traumatizes his care-givers!!
Sounds like a lovely on the road dinner.
So glad to hear you are on your way: California awaits you with open arms! (and so do we)

You eat better on the road than most 'Murcans eat in their homes!
May the rest of the trip be safe and thoroughly entertaining.

On the road again, between somewhere and home! We truly delighted in our cross-country from Sonoma to Vermont; even if our 'stuff' followed us like a doleful karma---until we unpacked it and saw home again! Peace MandT & Bodhi Dog

Keeping you in my thoughts as you travel toward home in Northern California. Thinking about Ursula Le Guin's fine book, ALWAYS COMING HOME.
Take a drive up Bald Hills Road for me sometime. In my mind it's always beautiful up there with the redwood forest, coast hills and view of the ocean on clear days. Once I drove all the way to the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation and circled back to the coast on Highway 299. I love the Klamath River.
Safe and fruitful travels to you!

How ironic, we had good friends who lived in Roseburg, so no it well. Drive safely and can't wait to here about low tides in Santa Cruz.

What a wonderful adventure. Three years ago my partner and I did the reverse drive from Roseburg (his old home town) up to Port Ludlow. It's a really beautiful journey. It sounds like you are enjoying it.
