Gravatar You live in an enchanted part of the world! To be able to watch - and film - that aquatic ballet, what a priviledge. The sea holds so many mysteries.

Gravatar Wow, Isn't that cool? How lucky to have been there at the right time to see so much action. It was fun hearing your reaction on the video clip. I'd probably be saying "OMG!" too.

Gravatar Btw, I don't know why I started appearing as "u" all of a sudden, but I'm going to try fixing that right now.

Gravatar Amazing video. How fortunate you were to see it in person.

Gravatar Thanks Bev, I didn't have my sound on. Love the wonder in your voices. What a great video but you had to know it was a bad day to be a sardine.

Gravatar After the sorrow of your earlier post, this is truly a gift. What an amazing sight! And thank you for sharing it with us; those of us landlocked would have no other chance to see this.

How long did the feeding frenzy last? And why do sea critters leap when feeding? Is it easier to catch their prey coming from above?

Gravatar I wonder if any of them thought "dang, where are the crackers?"!

Gravatar great video Robin, I was watching and listening to you and laughing pictureing us all standing together watching the sealions, thank you R and R I really needed to laugh this morning.
hugs to you!

Gravatar That sushi bar looks like a lot of fun!

Gravatar whoa, indeed! happy critters! funny though, R., you invoke the one most holy.....heehee. Ck out my Friday video....

Gravatar OMG! No way. Nothing holy about that. Small "g" all the way.

Gravatar They must REALLY like sardines!

Gravatar wonderful.

Gravatar Very cool! Hard to tell how big they are. Could you see whether or not they had ear flaps? If they did, they were sea lions.

Gravatar Neat. The energy of a marine feeding frenzy is intoxicating.

Gravatar How neat. I have seen the pelicans doing that at the edge of a surf but not the seals or sea lions. Very cool

Gravatar Sweet! One of the few things I fear in my kayak is a sea lion. They have teeth! and horrendous breath!

Gravatar Nice ; )

Early winter in Sausalito, boats from Alaska etc had their nets in the water, and you could hear them pulling nets all night long. Not so mention during the day, watching the pelicans and a few seals.

But the fragrance in the air was amazing.

Thanks for sharing it ; )

Cheers 2 U both!

Gravatar AWESOME! Thanks for sharing!

Gravatar how wondrous! i LOVE hearing the two of your awestruck voices. thank you for this.

Gravatar ooohhhh...........painful..........poor babies.......i'm far too much of a pisces for my own good..

Gravatar wonderful. your appreciation and reverence for nature and life is always uplifting. i'm glad to be getting back into this, with your blog being a primary highlight i've missed indulging in!

Gravatar Loved hearing your voices!

Beautiful leaping and diving. Almost flying.

Gravatar Fabulous. THOSE are nature moments I LIVE for. No different than the early summer moment you're on the deck NEAR your feeders and young juveniles are brought to the feeders for the first time...parental care at its best at that moment. OR the hummers in the lawn sprinkler when it dries enough to even use one. You ARE making the most of your California living.

Gravatar Ditto, all.

What did YOU have for dinner?
