When Bob Marley beacame sucessful, selling lots of records, he bought a shiny new beemer. Some folks in his circle of freinds asked him why he wanted that "Babylon car." He pointed to the propeller emblem on the grill and said it stood for "Bob Marley and the Wailers."
That emblem is called a "roundel", a word I only learned recently. And yes, it is a homage to BMW's aviation roots.
