3 months is the kicker in quiting. At that point, your body runs out of nicotine stored in your bodyfat and withdrawal REALLY kicks in. I quit many times over a period of 10/15 years & never made it past the 3 month mark & never knew why until just before I finally quit for good about 5 yrs ago, but even now I will all of a sudden, out of the blue, get a sudden almost irresistable urge for a smoke. It passes in a few seconds, but it sure is strong while it's there.
