The seatpost on my track bike did that. I ground out where the parts that fit around the seat rails were hitting each other when it was tightened down. Problem solved. The seat on my Schwinn does it too but it has conventional seat guts. I weigh like 220 but I still think it's just old parts and me being overambitious with the wrenches.

I am reading Heft on Wheels right now and the local bike goddess Molly at Veloshop told me about Large fella on a Bike. From there I got here. I'm coming up on 39 this fall and I'm not down with settling into middle age spread. I love bikes but I really don't want to be anything more than a casual cyclist. Well, a casual cyclist who rides fixed gear and singlespeed.
