Love the idea of de-duping -- I'll have to research that some more.

Another problem with data classification is that it sometimes (often) becomes political. Not everyone in an organisation agrees on what should be restricted information, and the act of one entity classifying it as such can lead to boardroom brawls.


I love the idea of boardroom brawls, however, you're right, it needs careful handling.

With de-duping however, you're not classifying anything immediately, just checking for duplicates. Once you have the data tagged and indexed by the system, you can classify at your leisure.

Leisurely boardroom brawls are so much more gentlemanly.
