I know the saying "Jumped The Shark" has, well, Jumped The Shark - but BH/D is certainly "different" these days.

I guess when anything becomes commercial instead of technical it will always be "different".
Maybe CurmudgeonCon could be a hit?
I'm not letting anyone with money in.

I will send you powerpoints when the talks are over (if you're really interested in them). You just had to ask...
What you've read is a press release not a technical paper nor the actual presentation hence the lack of technical details. BTW, the research work on timing attacks against DBs is to be presented at BH today, so just send me your email address be a bit patient.
No, my name is not a joke (sorry about that). Sadly, since I don't know your last name I can't make fun so I think your comment was unnecesarilly unfair to me (and to Ivana Trump).
The DB stuff to be presented today has absolutely nothing to do with Bob Steinkrauss or Ingrian Networks, it is actually the result of work done by 3 researchers at Core long before Bob got involved with the company as a board member.

Rob, I was going to make a post today about being the only one not going to BH, but you beat me to it. Pass me some Stilton to go with that whine?

If there's bitching and moaning to be done, I'm your man.
(And apparently, so Alex tells me, you're a woman. Sorry for referring to you as he in a previous post.)

Ivan, I've sent you a mail to beg forgiveness and tell you my ridiculous surname (it's on the blog here).
I didn't really think there would be any connection between Core and Ingrian, but I like to mention Ingrian when I can because they are friends of mine, and partners of my company. It was just a way of weaving it in.
I would LOVE to see those Powerpoints when you are done with them, and will delight in disclosing the information to the 60 odd people who read my blog.
That's "60-odd" people, not 60 "odd people", although...
