Anna, thanks. I never dreamed I had accumulated so much. Each week it gets easier to pitch more stuff I thought I should keep.

Anna, thanks so much for bringing the bright spirit here time after time. I pitched things I do not need all day today and truly it does feel good. If you do not touch or think about some things I have within the last year or keep neglecting to wear certain clothes, you no longer need them. You are so right... it is positive. And, I think it's very good for me. Besides I have to keep making time to do this.

Robyn, you will love small place. I have small place, and I am thinking even smaller in the future, lol. We are so bad in collecting 'stuff', that I get nervous because I don't know what to do with it on the end. Never mind all the gifts, if I displayed them all, I would probably cleaning my house more often. Robyn wishing all the best, and congratulation, this may be in fact a positive change, as sometimes shoveling and cleaning brings new energy in. Anna

Ramana, I'm glad you describe your downsizing experience. I truly think it will feel good once it's over. Perhaps it's a bit like shedding some excess weight, too. You just do what it takes to get there.

Where we live now is the last place we moved to nineteen years ago. The place we moved form was twice the size of this place and I have the experience of downsizing that you are going through. It is an experience worth going through but, it has also been my experience that after nineteen years, I now long to downsize again!

Gavin, just when I need a shot of serotonin, I'll think of those positive brain waves you sent my way!
I'm looking forward to the new home so think I'll be able to make a great transition, Gavin.
Thanks so much for your comment here and for your supporting words on Twitter.

Best of luck moving! Having moved dozens and dozens of times I quite like the process of uprooting and finding new "places". But I know others find it stressful and disorienting. In case you are the latter kind, I am sending you positive brain waves

Hi Kris, yes, even grocery shopping might be a challenge, I'm up to it. Our current home is about 13 miles from any major stores so everything we had to do took time going and coming. Soon there will be stores I could walk to.
And, yes, it will be exciting to find some new places to walk. One of the big things here will be that my son's family with our four grandchildren will be about a mile and a half away. My husband is older than me and is retired. He'll be able to go to the kids' games and just enjoy that. And I'll see them more frequently, too. I just figured it was the right timing.

Hi Robyn:
Moving means lots of new things: new grocery store layouts to to learn, finding just the right place for those little problems like fixing a broken window or a broken watch. When we moved last time, it was those little new learnings that I found the most challenging. I wish you all the luck. I hope you have time to find the new walking trails to explore, and the fun things that come your way.

You know, Janice, I sense I'll need lots of humor and clarity of thought in the next couple of months. Humor can turn things around quickly and I think it'll come just when I need it.
Thanks for love across the miles. I'll share more insights throughout the process. I'm going to post photo of our current home so you can see the scope of change.

Brad, change is really good for the mind since it keeps us fresh. I rethought my original reluctance to try Twitter. Yes, it was truly a learning experience - the parallel of which I see in the move.
Amazingly, when I was younger I wanted a newer home, but entered what I think of as an antique. Now, after many years there and adapting to that and enjoying every minute of it, I'm going to have that newer place to live. Life brings surprises.

Joanna, I wanted to know this was in the bag. The final closing date is July 31 so I'm working ahead with the paring down. Believe it or not it feels good to discard things that are not really in use.
This comes a big learning opportunity like you suggest. I'm going at it with some gusto.
You had a move not long ago and I know that you truly enjoy your choices.

I wish you strength and courage as well as lots of humour and clarity of mind during the transition...then lots of love and inspiration in your new home when you get there!
I've missed you, but I'm now looking forward to seeing what gems this house move will produce in future posts.

Hi Robyn, Enjoy your move - how exciting! It'll be a real change, but change keeps your mind fresh and active, no? (PS - who would have thought Twitter would be good preparation for moving?)
