Gravatar Hi Joe, Competition works for quite a few folks. But, what do you suggest for employees who do not rise to a competition challenge and feel defeated before starting? I mean folks who have much to give, but are not competitive by nature.

Gravatar Hi David, fitness and nutrition help keep our brain healthy, too. I'm thinking Brain Based Biz readers might be interested.

Gravatar One things that works for me is to create internal competition with my co-workers. To be better then them everyday. It's been working for me.

On another note:
I just found a creative way to try and keep your self on your toes.

Check this link out. The guy is looking for a nemesis.

Gravatar Scott, we certainly are wired differently and it's interesting to hear how you bring out client's best. One strategy you use that's quite intriguging is the use of color and insights revealed. I, too, am fascinated by how that plays out. We certaily do have different preferences, but few of us stop to think how these affect our output at work.

Hope your work in France pushes you deeper into the good work you do!

Gravatar I love this stuff and use similar techniques with my clients. Today I am in France (just West of Paris) working with a group of senior Procurement specialists. I have just taken them through the Insights Learning Personality test. This test based on MBTI, uses colours to help people understand themselves better. The critical point though is demonstrated by the statement "do unto others as they would have done unto THEM". Pity about the typing mistake in the bible! A real learning moment can happen for individuals if they realise not only why they might be wired for adventure
but that their friends and family may not be.

Gravatar AxeCity, the way you constructed a new strategy to take a final exam helped you to be a winner. By developing new solutions is truly a winning way to approach problems in the workplace as well!

I think we'll see your name in Fortune at some point!

Gravatar Geology Joe, I believe like you that when it comes to our work we need adventure into new creative solutions to problems, but at the same time, we do not want to these to be hasty or poorly thought out.

If we stay in the business as usual mode, we may not rise up to meet challenges in ways that keep our firm in the lead.

Thoughts?

Gravatar I prefer adventures for sure, I like to have something new every often, I hate routine in everything, It seems I can guess the result of my test

Gravatar In the outdoors I prefer solo adventure, like hiking or cycling.

In the office routines take the thinking out my of the work and lead to poor decisions/ conclusions/ recommendations.

I'm best when the SHTF and good decisions need to be made quickly but global concepts remain important.
