Gravatar Somehow I think the Baz Luhrmann film is never going to be made after all.

Haven't seen Stone's version yet, but I plan to do so, either now or --dare I say-- on DVD. Pitty though for what I hear everywhere this is at best mediocre stuff. What is it with Hollywood these days? What better source material could one ask for?

Gravatar I think there's a pattern emerging from Troy and Alexander, which is to "post-modernize" everything, i.e. use language, narrative structures, even make-up and costumes that may be far from consistent to the original material, but are attractive to a 21st century multi-cultural / global teenage/TV audience.

Although I loved Moulin Rouge, a part of me actually *hopes* that Luhrmann's version will never make it to the screen (DiCaprio as Alexander? pur-lease!).
